I have seen a lot of rivals saying that Henderson is average at best, but in my opinion he is one of our best players. I also believe that he only will get better, as he won´t have to cover for Gerrard anymore.

I would like to hear some of your opionions about him. Would he walk into a top4 team?

{Ed023's Note - Rival fans wouldn't watch him as much and just because he isn't on the highlight reel weekly they will deem him average. I think he is a great player and I agree with his 'babysitting' now over he will go up another level.

Would he walk into a top 4 team? I think Jose would love his intensity and work ethic - he would get a game with City along with with United. Arsenal I don't know as he isn't the type of player they need but saying that a player of his work rate would always be welcome in a top side.}

He needs the shackles removing for next season. He needs to be able to play as a box to box midfielder rather than a disciplined one. When he played on the right side of the 442 diamond 2 seasons ago, he was quality and made the whole right side his own.

Agree he's perfect on the right side in a midfield 3, he's got the legs to arrive late in the box, but also get back to break down play in midfield. People also forget how many assists/chances he creates with his vision and passing skills. I think if he adds regular goals to his repertoire he'd get onto more highlight reels and get a lot more respect.

on point zimbo. he can create. he does have some of those 'hollywood' long balls in him. bt what i like about him is he doesn't do that without purpose,if a short pass is the better option, he will play that pass.

id agree with ed023, he probably won't get as many minutes depending on which epl team we're refering to, bt his work rate will be of use, especially in the epl.

Hendo has become a great player, all due to his own work ethic and drive to succeed. He is a true role model of what can be achieved if you are seemingly less talented but willing to get better with every opp you get. He would be an asset to any team in the top four IMO and with the shackles of him, he will go to the next level, I think.

In all honesty I don't think adding Clyne to RB will make that much difference. A big part of the problem was our weak midfield not offering enough cover. When our wingbacks shot forward nobody in the midfield slotted in behind to cover the gaps so when we lost possession our CB's were left exposed very quickly. Selling LL will only add to this problem and I really cannot see our midfield doing much better next season without a recognised CDM. Clyne was suspect at defending at Saints and this will only show all the more without adequate cover.

I love seeing midfielders make late runs into the box. Very useful against teams who play a high line. It also would have come in handy last season when our strikers rarely seemed to run in behind when we had possession in the opposition half.

Obviously the big focus has been who we will sign as our new main striker, but agree with Natural Poolie that unless we anchor our midfield with a strong CDM, our defense will continue to struggle.

Curious as to people's thoughts as to who the best choice for this position would be.
