Hi eds. not wrote in a very long time. just been reading what everyone else writes. my questions - are we after Dzeko as part of the sterling deal ?? And if we carry on spending won't we go over budget on the financial fair play. which means a hefty final or even a transfer ban.

{Ed002's Note - No. I have explained which striker Liverpool want.}

Agree0 Disagree2

Why on earth would you want Dzeko? I genuinely think some people are happy with our rivals' second string players. He's by no means a bad player but is nowhere near the level we should be aiming for.

I am sorry mate, but which level? Like BR claiming the world class Origi or the free signing from a relegated Burnley?
We should have never both the two in the first place and y do you need 5 strikers?

05 Jul 2015 13:58:39
European glory, are you just trolling today? Youve mentioned further down the page you'd like Soldado? And now your whining about Origi and Ings? Which level yourself mate.

05 Jul 2015 14:11:49
I think Ings/Origi are more for the future rather than the immediate first team and it's clear we need a top quality partner/competition for Sturridge for this season. Personally i just don't see Dzeko having the quality to be that player, i'd much rather we took the full payment from City rather than take the players they're happy to sell.

Excuse me mate. The reason I mentioned Soldado was due Liverpool looking at Llorente in case Benteke deal falls through. All the three are similar type of players and we are shelling a huge money on a pure gamble in Benteke.
I am not sure how's our players all of a sudden become world class if Dzeko is a second stringe average player?
We have already bought 2 strikers and I can't see a game changer in neither of the two.

Like us wanting to replace Lambert and Borini this summer we would be a very similar position next summer wanting both Origi and sings out.

05 Jul 2015 15:03:14
Soldado is not a similar type of player to Benteke or Llorente.
Soldado is a proven failure in the Premier League how would he not represent a gamble?
Why don't you give Origi and Ings a chance to prove themselves before you deem them not good enough?

05 Jul 2015 16:12:31
European Glory how can you suggest Soldado and say Benteke would be a gamble?? Obviously Benteke would cost more but he would for a reason. IMO Soldado has proved he can't hit the back end of a barn from 18 yards in a decent spurs side yet Benteke has banged in goals in a very poor villa side. Personally my opinion is Benteke would be a great signing. A lot of people are saying he needs the ball lumped in to the box but that is how villa played his hold up play is fantastic and we would have a lot of pace and trickery behind him he can shoot with power from nothing and could fit very well. He's no slouch either. We need better strikers. What we have for the most part are just not good enough regardless as to whether or not Rodgers played to there potential or not.

Let's cut this crap about a player from a mid table would come and double the digits with Liverpool.
We did took a gamble on Lambert and Lallana last season with the same excuse.
If they could score 10 for Southampton they would score 20 with better players around.

The fact is unless you don't play a players strength they ain't contributing. Simple.

This has nothing to do with the players ability. Benteke would score if you know how to play him and I am sorry but we don't play his way at all.

Now the real reason BR after him is chasing his past goal scoring records and expecting him to bail him out.

It's mad assuming there is some sort of plan on buying Benteke.

How does it make sense to buy Benteke in the same window as Firmino?

Back.

You not getting point at all. I repeat both of the players ain't bad. But can I say both weren't actually needed.
Given us buying Benteke and Sturridge comes back after injury Both are starting without a doubt and where would you see the young lads getting a game?
Ings is 22 and certainly not coming to rest on the bench.

05 Jul 2015 19:31:22
I agree that we are overloaded in forward areas Europe but what happens if one of our first choice strikers was injured? We need to have options. What if they are having a poor game and we need to make a change up there?
Also you can't say 'I repeat' and follow it with a statement you have never said before? You belittled both in your first comment and in your second mentioned how we would be wanting them out next summer.
I'm not sure you're getting your own point.

Well I am showing you the future mate. Mark my words exactly into 12 months all the above would have their own transfer list of players to be shipped out and Ings and Origi would be top most ( not because they are poor, just because they wouldn't contribute just like lambert or borini )

This cycle has been ongoing from years and will continue.

Can I say we need three players in the summer.

A top class Striker

A top class Gk

A top class midfielder ( DM / DLP )

Unfortunately after bringing in more than 6 players we we still short on the three positions.

05 Jul 2015 23:45:27
You can't say Lambert and Borini didn't contribute when they were never given the chance to contribute though? Thank you for showing me the future though, if only we had followed your wisdom and signed Soldado.
