Hi Ed1

Finally the 2 coaches have been announced but they are saying that Pep Lijnders is going to be first team development coach, WTF does this mean is he going to be basically working with senior team and the academy to try and bring through more of the youth players into the fist team? If so hows he going to manage to get BR to agree to this?! lol

{Ed001's Note - it is more a case of being a bridge, to get the young players up to the level of the first team and integrate them into the squad. I am sure Rodgers knows he has to do something different and work with the coaches as his job is on the line. He has always been willing to take ideas from others in the past, the problem has more been about his understanding of those ideas being flawed. Hopefully O'Driscoll and Linders will be able to help him to a better understanding and also to see when tactics have been worked out push him to change them, rather than sticking with them anyway until it is too late. This is last chance saloon for Rodgers, he knows he has to make it work, that should make him much more receptive to his coaching staff.}

Hey ed001, this new appointment was necessary in my opinion. If things go south, doesn't this appointment seem a bit risky as we'd likely get 2 new managers again if Rodgers gets sacked? I hope it works out; I'm optimistic about this season.

{Ed001's Note - why would we need 2 new managers if Rodgers goes? O'Driscoll is perfectly capable of working with whoever comes in. One thing he is good at is working with others. The players will love him, which means he would be an excellent man to keep in place to work with a new manager, in that event. Hopefully it won't be needed, fingers crossed Rodgers can work well with the new coaching team and we have some success under him.}

To be fair i'd this fails with Brendan i wouldn't be surprised for Sean to be given the reins.

Same goes for if it works bur Brendan leaves to keep with continuality Sean or pep might vet promoted.

Just lkme the good old bootroom days.

{Ed002's Note - You are making all of this stuff up.}

Making his own language up.

Thanks Ed1 makes better sense now since you have explained it! Seems a logical idea and as you say hopefully rodgers stops with the arrogance and starts listening to the new coaching team, i for one look forward to the new season i just hope we don't go signing many more players (we have signed to many already) so that the fans don't start a get the new coaches out campaign too!

{Ed001's Note - I think the two new coaches have been the best signings of the summer, personally.}

Yeah ed001 i just got to thinking about how BR brought a new crew with him, thought the same may be possible of someone else. Cheers.

couldnt agree more ed 1 top signings let's hope it makes Rodgers up his game and he does what he says he will do and learn as both the new coaches seem to have some vast and excellent experience, if he likes to learn then he's got two very good coaches to learn from!

He`d better up his game because our schedule is BRUTAL and the owners are fed up with his failures. hopefuly, these two coaches can reel him in and get him going.

To be fair ed002 I didn't make anything up!

I just said there might be a chance they promote one of the coaches if they get rid of Brendan or if Brendan leaves one of them might take over.

Infact ed001 said it would be good having pep work as coach with one day him maybe becoming head coach with us, rather than someone else!

And the boot room had bill then from the group bob and then Joe with later on Roy.

Don't think I made that up.

Really struggling to see what I am simply making up!

Thanks for the reply though 😊

{Ed002's Note - All of this boot room nonsense is history - you need to move on.}

06 Jul 2015 15:34:17
It is part of our history but it shouldn't be.

In the sense that look at Barcelona

Pep, Tito, Luis

All groomed in the way of the club to keep continuality and consistency.

If we go and win the league next year and Brendan sails off to Madrid (I AM NOT SAYING THAT IS HAPPENING) why go in a different direction with a new coach, why not push pep or Sean up and got get someone like Alex Inglethorpe to replace them as coach in the team.

Reducing the chance of too many changes, something worked because we would of just won the league.

You can move ahead with the pre identified transfer targets and everything stays the same. It would be only on change Brendan for pep or Sean.

I'm not one of these who think because of the boot room where not this great team anymore but having bob work with shanks and then go and continue that work whilst making his own changes definatly played a part in all our success.

Just a question for any of the eds who pick this post up.

What would you prefer to happen if we won the league next season and Brendan resigned. Would you want one of the coaches getting promoted or go and get someone new in?

{Ed002's Note - I am not going to get in to those sort of questions.}
