Anyone else feel that the gunners are the dark horses in the sterling saga ?

Agree2 Disagree11

No they won't pay the ridiculous fee . They have Walcott chamberlain

06 Jul 2015 11:41:15
I can't see Arsenal paying that sort of money for Sterling when they already have Walcott, Chamberlain, Welbeck, Sanchez, Ozil and Gnabry capable of playing similar positions plus others I've probably forgotten. I think they'll be dark horses in the running for the league though now they've signed Cech!

Agree with ShadowPuppet about title challenge but still feel they are lacking a stronger cb than what they currently have. Also they have to stay relatively injury-free which seems an impossibility for Arsenal.

06 Jul 2015 12:14:02
Cannot see another club than city for the player on that price.

06 Jul 2015 12:30:20
Chelsea are the dark horses in Sterling saga IMO.

06 Jul 2015 12:39:06
Arsenal will not challenge for the title!! They will do the same as every other year, Chelsea will beat them twice they will lose away to the big teams etc etc slow start then play catch up to get top 4.

06 Jul 2015 12:42:02
Agree with Europe if we are really going to hold firm on our valuation of the player City seems the only club that could make it work. Would struggle for regular starting place at Chelsea.

06 Jul 2015 12:58:38
I disagree O G, they may not win the title but I definitely think they'll challenge for it. They could lose twice to Chelsea but a lot of teams will. They played catch up last year and it got them right into the mix towards the end. With a player of Sanchez' quality your always in with a shout, he can change games on his own, much like Suarez did for us.

Arsenal have a very good chance of winning the title.

They are now investing in high quality and proven players and winning trophies.

Their trajectory is upwards while Man City's looks downwards.

06 Jul 2015 13:02:07
Shadow they play catch up every year lol

They did nothing last year that they haven't done before! And they still had s couple dodgy results towards the end last season.

06 Jul 2015 13:16:25
I get where your coming from O G, it normally is the same old story with Arsenal, but like BOOM says they seem to have changed their strategy and are buying proven quality players. I just think they seem like a different Arsenal, one that's ready to push on to the next level and really challenge. That's just my opinion though.

06 Jul 2015 13:27:41
With a world class striker, Arsenal would challenge for the title.

06 Jul 2015 13:59:49
Arsenal will be challenging this year for the title, they've only ever really needed 1 or 2 signings to do it, but they've always failed to bring in the right ones. Since Seaman left, they've not had a GK who could control the defense, keep them organised and alert. They now have that in Petr Cech, who is world class on his day. The other position they've always lacked in is a proper work horse in midfield, ready to do all the dirty work, someone like Lucas or Mascherano.

06 Jul 2015 14:21:15
Until proof of the contrary, Aresenal will do what they have always done since they last won the title as in, huff and puff, act like their challenging early on, suffer their annual Nov-Feb slump and play catchup as usual. Until that changes, they will always be who they are and will always do what they do. And make pathetic excuses for it.

There end of season pish could be bad or good.

Bad is they go were one more top player from challenging and actual go and get said player and therefore bloody challege

Good they think there squad is better than it is and they go we dint need many addition and use that same squad which we know won't challenege

Good & bad they do strenghten but go and get Sterling who wint take them to the next level and therefor finish 4 again.
