You mentioned the manager there - was he a big part in that decision to come here?

He was a massive part, to be honest. The club doesn't need a lot of selling about what a great club it is, with all the history, the support and the squad they have. But speaking to the manager and what his plans were for me, things I've heard about him from other players - I was speaking to Stevie at England and people like that - and what he said to me made me want to come and play for him straight away.

Oh dear, I guess you guys will be keeping very quiet now, with your rumour spreading of a unhappy dressing room under Rodgers.

{Ed001's Note - if you say so, because any player signing is going to join saying that the manager is an imbecile right? You should drop the r off your name.}

That quote tells you everything you ever need to know about Gerrard, a bit about Milner, not much about Rodgers and nothing at all about the dressing room.

I can hear the knuckles dragging from here right ed

I don't not believe the eds! But it is very hard to get your head around when it seams everyone has good things to say about Rodgers.

{Ed001's Note - hmmmm everyone? You mean the ones who left on good terms with the club said good things about him? Agger had nothing good to say.}

Reina,Sterling,Sahin are 3 people I have seen being open in interviews speaking negatively of BR(though I imagine BR might speak negatively of them in once time passes).
It would be a strange career choice to criticise a manager you've just signed a contract for.
''Yeah I spoke with Stevie and he said Brodge is a bit of a halfwit,but if I wanted a goodlong term contract of employment I might as well call anfield home for a few years.'' Maybe that's what Milner should have said?

06 Jul 2015 21:17:54
True, forgot that one ed. :/

{Ed001's Note - Downing, Sahin, Reina are others off the top of my head. There are a lot of people involved with Reading who do not have much good to say about him.}

06 Jul 2015 21:42:53
Apart from agger even though him leaving was practical due to never being fit and taking a big wage out the club.

Who else are you bothered that actually left?

Secondly is it important that the players like the manager? Isn't that the coaches job, to be between manager and player?

{Ed001's Note - he was fit but never picked for most of the time under Rodgers.}

I always think it shows a complete lack of class and highlights self doubt when players criticise the manager when they leave.
Some of them need a mirror and to take a good look at their pay cheques from LFC.

Ask current players like Lucas, Sahko, Borini and Sterling about what they REALLY think about BR and find well see if they have nothing bad to say about him.

07 Jul 2015 04:02:26
Absorbing BR of his share of the blame again I see, Ron. Typical! So in your view, players like Lucas and Agger ( great servants who were disgracefully treated by your boy), Sahko (who plays his heart out every game yet BR wants him gone) and a couple more like Borini who rejected more money just to stay and prove himself, should look themselves in the mirror or have more class after being treated like dirt by an incompetent manager? Utter rubbish! Respect begets respect, bro and if BR needs to treat players with contempt in order to get their respect then it says a lot more about him than it does about the players who have done nothing wrong to warrant the way BR treats them. But then again, BR and leadership have never gone together in the same sentence since he's been here.

07 Jul 2015 07:21:29
Disgracefully treated?

Wish someone would give me 50k a week to chill out. I wouldn't complain.

{Ed001's Note - certainly it is no worse than criticising a previous manager who has refused to pick you. Hardly a lack of class, just shows that they actually care. In Agger's case, I don't see how anyone can dispute that when fit he was our best defender, so he has every right to complain when he is sat watching while the defence is shambolic.}

If agger wasn't injured ed he was one week off another injury.

He should of been there with Barcelona collecting all them trophies (if I was manager of Liverpool at that time I would never if let him reject that move)

But you can't build a defence around agger when he is either injured or going to be injured

Your selective memory on his injuries ed isn't good. Fact fitting shouldn't be in your remit, it's destroys your credibility.

{Ed001's Note - but Brendan has no trouble building an attack around Sturridge. So I fail to see your point? I wasn't saying he is not injury prone, the only person doing fact fitting is you with this nonsense post of yours that makes little sense.}

07 Jul 2015 09:51:57
{Ed001's Note - he was fit but never picked for most of the time under Rodgers.}

Most of the time would be a lie!

I take your point on sturridge.

I just think aggers bit wages, injury rexord and the signing of Sakho played a part in him being let go.

We did do good by him though letting him go to bronby.

And agger player in the title run in at the back against man u, then got injured again didn't he ?

{Ed001's Note - how would that be a lie? He was left out when fit until he left. I seem to remember Sakho being out and him still not getting a game too. He was let go because he would not kowtow to Rodgers and tried to discuss tactics and play. It was the exact same thing that saw Nic Anelka not get a move under Ged Houllier. Some managers do not like to be questioned, which is why Rodgers likes to surround himself with young players that just do as he says without question. Or players like Toure, who are also very happy to just follow instructions and do their best. When it works it is great, but you need people to question you always to make sure you have other views, that is why it all went tits up last season. We had no one questioning the decisions until it was too late.}
