We should jump in and make an offer for Casillas! Madrid will even subsidize his wages for the next 2 years. :D

Casillias is terrible now, 10 years ago he was a monster.

07 Jul 2015 11:14:57
He hasn't just magically become a bad goalkeeper, I really think has just needed a move. A fresh start and new challenge will probably revitalize him, he should've gone when he was dropped for Diego López, or even before.

{Ed001's Note - was he ever a good keeper?}

07 Jul 2015 11:22:55
He's also disruptive and divisive behind the scenes, though some of that is due to his friendship with some of the higher members of the Madrid hierarchy. Personally I've only met him once and found him to be a pretty nice chap.

07 Jul 2015 11:33:47
He's too small and not very good now and the wage for him would be silly

07 Jul 2015 11:36:52
Decent keeper decent distribution experience and a winner, worth a go in my eyes.

07 Jul 2015 11:46:04
He was a decent shot stopper but that's about it, between 2007-2010 I think Reina deserved to be ahead of him without a doubt

07 Jul 2015 12:25:22
Weve just missed out on Trapp whos going to PSG for under 10m. What a steal.

07 Jul 2015 12:58:37
Well I go with Ed01 on this, We should have made Mig's agent aware as soon as last season ended of our desire to move him out and bring in a top class keeper. A top class keeper would save close to 12 points without a doubt.
As much as Migs is said to be improved, He cannot kick a ball well to our players in 3 years.
Should have promoted Ward and bought one class keeper.

{Ed002's Note - Good to see the world's worst fans setting about one of the Liverpool players again. You are making yourselves an absolute laughing stock.}

07 Jul 2015 13:22:06
Well, I didn't mean to offend the player, I just had an opinion on the players peformance from past three years comparing to other keepers. i think quite a lot here would have the same opinion on Mignolet.

cheers Ed02

07 Jul 2015 13:32:47
I don't see how someone having a negative opinion on a player makes them one of the worst fans in the world.

It is just an opinion and its better to express it here than during a game when I agree that everyone should be behind the team for entire 90 minutes no matter what.

Blind faith in players achieves nothing and although Mignolet picked up his form in the second half of the season, he is still a weak link in the team.

He does not fit into the way Rogers wants the team to play and he also has no serious competition for his place (is Bogdan really any better than Jones?).

{Ed002's Note - A large number of the Liverpool fans do nothing but trash the players.}

07 Jul 2015 13:33:34
Whilst I don't post very often ed02 I find that reply very insulting and just think if your having a bad day go meditate or something?? We have every right as a fan who pays hard earned good money to complain about players if we wish don't we? whatever happened to freedom of speech ay?

{Ed002's Note - You are a complete cretin. A large number of the Liverpool fans do nothing but spew hate over the owners, the management, the coaches, the players (past, present and future).}

07 Jul 2015 13:50:52
Whilst ...................

{Ed002's Note - Feel free to take your moronic views and trail of slime that follows you and go elsewhere.}

07 Jul 2015 14:05:20
Haha. Love you ed002

07 Jul 2015 14:36:53
The main gripe I have with Mignolet is his poor distribution. This is an aspect of his game he could and should be working on daily on the training ground. It appears he is not so the main question for me is why this hasn't been dealt with and worked with in his time at the club. If it has been worked on and he has shown absolutely no improvement then questions need to start being asked.

07 Jul 2015 13:46:45
Ed001, I personally believe that both he was a really good goal keeper pre-2012, however, I felt that his inability to organise a defense was what made him inferior to Buffon.

{Ed001's Note - I have never rated him, he was always prone to errors and flapping at crosses. Like Valdes he was just lucky to play behind a great team.}

07 Jul 2015 15:35:37
Ed002: Whilst I agree Liverpool fans are indeed shocking at times, they are only the second worst fans in the world. The Montreal Canadiens, a North American hockey club, have the distinction of having, by far, the worst. Though it is a close call!

With the same arrogance and expectation of victory, they also mix in a healthy dollop of language issues and separatist garbage along with rioting over virtually nothing.

And if you think the posters on here like talking smack about their team, try writing for the Habs (their nickname) as I did for a number of years. I know a lot gets erased here, but I got blitzed in two languages on political, bigotist and hockey related garbage for years!!! All this negative talk about the 'Pool players is quite tame. ;)

Still, you've lasted much longer than I could stand it. Pour yourself a stiff drink, I raise my glass to you - to all the Eds!

As to the topic. I agree Reina was the best Spain had to offer for a handful of years, and while Migs' distrobution (if it can be called that) is decidedly poor, when he's on his game he's more than capable of keeping the team in a game. More consistency is needed, IMO.

{Ed002's Note - I saw a couple of Canadiens games in the Stanley Cup year - 86 I think. Against the New York Islanders and Toronto Maple Leafs.}

{Ed001's Note - was he ever a good keeper?}

Spot on Ed001

For those moaning about Mignolet the season prior to joining us he was one of the best goalkeepers in the league. The start of his Liverpool career he was brilliant then obviously he dropped off but the end of last season after he had been dropped he was great again. Being a keeper myself I know how important it is to have a solid back four infront of you consistently and that is not something he has had. Your defence needs to be set and rarely changed like the champions Chelsea. I think if Mignolet can get a set back four of Clyne Ilori Sakho Moreno/Flanagan (when fit) I think we could see a massive difference
