I am sorry and I don't mean any offence but I just don't get all this love for Sakho from what I have watched he is a liability he looks so awkward on the ball only ever plays 5yard passes and is awful in the air proper 50p head I think sometimes on here what ever the eds say people jump on it, if ed02 said balo was brilliant and he wants him to stay I bet there was be loads of posts saying always like balo and want him to stay!!!

Sakho is strong, fast, competes well in the air, good positionally and is the only centre back we have capable of bringing the ball out of defence and playing a proper pass. His arms do go up when he has the ball and gives him an awkward, leggy look but if you base how you rate players on looks then you need a different sport

I don't remember the eds praise him a lot. It is just that iff you saw all our games past year I don't understand how you are not impressed with him. For me he was our best defender. Very clean game, very accurate passer including some very long passes, inteligent play, and although he doesn't look very quick or at first look doesn't look comfortable with the ball he lost the ball very rarely last season.
I agree that there is somethign in his movement with the ball that if you didn't see a lot of him playing may make you think initially he is not a natural defender but if you watch him a lot for me he is a very good defender.
If there are views here which may be affected by the eds about our defenders is the dislike for Skertl and blaming him for 90 percent of our defensive problems last year even though I think he had many very decent performances and personally am very happy he is staying.

Jay, it's funny, i was about to post something similar. I don't want him to go as our other options are worse but I'm always amazed when people consider him a top player.

Deffo not just the media it's my opinion from watching the games last year, he maybe better than the rest of the cb's we have but to be fair I think I would of had a better season then lovren an skrtel.

sakho looks like a car crash waiting to happen every time i watch him play,take the blinkers off guys he may well improve but at the moment he's average at best

Come on ed01 u can't really think he is the answer he is no carrager hyppia etc if he was he wouldn't cause such a split in opinion if people where asked before u eds said he was good "is he good enough for us" at least 50% would of said no if not more we need a leader not a liability.

I am far from clueless I have played football all my life to a very high standard and managed several kids football teams to a good lvl and there's no need to start getting snotty we were simply having a good debate in this thread which is what I thought u would like on this site no wonder u don't get any new posters and it's just the same cr@p day I day out normally ed02 shooting people down it now your starting no need!!

Jay, you aren`t the only one who`s played the game because many of us have so that proves NOTHING about your knowledge og the game because clearly, the fact that you think Sahko, the closest thing we`ve had since Agger in terms of skill, ability and passing accuracy from the back, is not good enough shows how much you know about the game.
Word up, you call Sahko a car crash and average. You must be mixing him up with the other guy who can`t communicate to save his life and who just runs around making rash challenges w/o knowing where hi other defenders are. You think average CB`s play for France and is capt of Les Bleus? How did you come to that conclusion? because he gives the ball away atimes due mainly to mids not showing up for a pass? Who hasn`t given the ball away in games? You are right that there is a true car crash within our CB`s and hint, his name is neither Sahko, Toure, Ilori or even Lovren (who i think can be good if he just calms down and plays his game the way we know he can), IMO. I suggest you watch more of Sahko instead of just watching a game with your eyes wide shut.

Sakho is a starter for the French national team - there is no other defender of that pedigree ie what one might consider a top international side. Personally find it odd that anyone could watch Liverpool regularly and not see his class. My opinion, obviously.
