bit of a negative post but curious to find out what your responses are. What do you think is the biggest mistake Rodgers has made being liverpool manager?

I would have to go with benching Carra first 6 months of his reign which probably lead to him retiring (when he was by far our best defender)

A close second is selling Maxi. What an under-rated player he was. Always grabbed a goal and didn't exactly sell him for a lot either

Simple. Losing the league.

It was ours to lose and we did.

04 Aug 2015 13:18:21
I'll go with appointing Pascoe.

He needed a number 2 with experience who could help him pick a player. In general transfer dealings have been woeful except for 1 window when we bought Sturridge and Coutinho. This window is yet to be judged.

The constant souring of relationships, between he and players(our own and others)
Carragher,Reina,Sahin,Sakho,Sterling,Salah,Agger, sinclair the list goes on I can't even remember. half the lads he's pissed off.

Last two seasons Rodgers made the same mistake. In our title race, we lost to Chelsea when all we needed was a draw and last year we lost to Man Utd when a draw would have seen us finish 4th.

Both games no other great manager would have ever lost, it may not have been pretty or part of the "philosphy" but it was what needed to be done.

Completely agree with Wassa we could of won the league but some rookie mistakes let us down. Gutting

04 Aug 2015 13:35:26
Selling Dirk Kuyt and Daniel Agger both for peanuts for me. Keeping Skrtel over Agger is unforgivable for me. I was gutted when Dirk left as well because they both loved the club so much

04 Aug 2015 13:44:55
Mine would have to be ballsing up the signing of Bony which resulted in us signing Balotelli. Worst. Signing. Ever.

04 Aug 2015 13:47:40
Play for a draw is idiotic. You play to win. That's what the greats do

And for the record we would of won the league if captain fantastic hadnt of slipped on his hoop :)

Brendan did all that was expected in that season, as did everyone else. It was one slip that's all.

Thomo121, One of the daftest post I have read in a long time. Keep players just because they love the club. Danny Murphy loved the club are you suggesting we shouldn't have sold him also

That fake Tan

04 Aug 2015 14:47:55
That's right Ron, it's never your man crush " THE TEETH ", is it? Put all the blame on his poor assistants just like that RAT did! Tell you what Ronald, you've definitely put all your eggs in one basket haven't you lad, when he gets sacked you'll be on suicide watch!

04 Aug 2015 15:13:12
His biggest mistake was becoming Liverpool boss when he wasn't ready to.
Too many mistakes to really list here and that says it all.
I'm hoping his new back room staff can guide him properly this year, they can't and won't be just yes men and will likely have more power than Rodgers would like but it's what's needed.

04 Aug 2015 15:39:51
No forever96.

The greats always ensure first and foremost that you don't lose.

04 Aug 2015 16:13:06
Red Since not just because they loved the club, they were both very good players especially Agger who never should have been sold over Skrtel. If you don't think Kuyt and Agger were good players then you are mad. It's in the past but they were great professionals and great players

04 Aug 2015 16:18:45
Lol@Waro. My thoughts should he get sacked are well documented so, respectfully RTFP.

How is "not picking a decent number 2" NOT Rodgers fault?

You're losing the plot a bit Waro.

04 Aug 2015 17:22:03
Well well well Ronald, that's my last two posts you've replied to now, funny how ( as I predicted ) you failed to reply to my first post yesterday because what was it " I only have time to scan quickly through the posts so must have missed what i had asked you ",hahaha.

Let's go back to your point here though, your saying his biggest mistake out of EVERYTHING he's done ( and I'll defend BR here ) was not having the ability to see into the future and realize that he should have discarded his right hand man who he'd had relative success with @ Swansea because 3 years down the line the lack of a more experienced No 2 was the answer to his many failings? Is that what your saying Ronald?

That to me if you cut away the BS from your post, is YET another excuse from you for keeping a poor manager in charge of one of the worlds biggest and most iconic football clubs!

By your reasoning here ( and I think someone else has said this in this thread ) his biggest mistake was not saying " sorry this jobs to big, I'm NOT EXPERIENCED ENOUGH YET ", now that is a comment I will accept.

As I said last night Ronnie me boy, your just like your man crush, " A BLAGGER & A BLUFFER ", FACT!!

04 Aug 2015 17:56:34
I love you too Waro, more than I love BR.

Xx

04 Aug 2015 18:50:50
Oh Ronald i'm flattered😳😳, a career in politics awaits you I think fella!

04 Aug 2015 18:51:04
BRs biggest issues for me are his remarkable ability to alienate players and inability to accurately assess a players qualities. Whether it is down to him favouring those he gets on with better or for another reason it is detrimental to the team. Case in point is Agger who was our best defender by a country mile but Rodgers didn't rate and so alienated him and sold him for peanuts. It looks like he will do the same with Texiera who is already head and shoulders above Allen. I apologise for the rant but our manager really is a concern, I just hope the new coaches can help with these inadequacies.

04 Aug 2015 19:36:59
His biggest problem was signing too many players and expecting them to gel.

By the time they should ofbstarted to adapt, the morale of the team was low and the manager was fighting an uphill battle.

I'm hoping it's.not the same this season.

04 Aug 2015 20:38:08
biggest mistake Real Madrid away total disrespect for travelling fans and a smack in the chops for SG. also the sight of him clueless standing in the rain soaked to bone not knowing what to do when getting battered by palace I think that showed us up no end!

04 Aug 2015 22:52:23
The one big thing for me is his lack of a plan B. When everyone in the stadium can see what needs to change, except him.

05 Aug 2015 00:08:17
Waro, you are spot on with Ron. He and BR belong together because they think alike. Nothing is ever their fault, it's always someone else who needs to take the blame while they take the credit and when all else fails, throw your trusted and devoted number two to the wolves to save your own skin. True men of integrity and honor that would make great politicians but aweful football managers.

05 Aug 2015 09:49:36
Please, no more one moment of blame on Stevie. Yeah, he slipped, but if you want one moment that lost us the league it was Hendo's red card. That's what was different for those last few games. Gutting, I know, and I've followed the Reds since 1964, and waited since 1990 for us to win again. Twice so close in all those years. Never mind top four, let's win it.
