Would just like to say that Ibe was absolutely terrible today, I would have played with one less man than have him on, he was a liability today. To be honest, he hasn't been good in any of the games but tonight he was exceptionally poor. what do you guys think?

Agree15 Disagree4

He's a kid, what else do you expect?

Tgis is the problem, you see, and comments of that nature proves just how much unnecessary pressure is placed on the shoulders of young players.

Sort it out please mate.

He's a kid I bet he loves supporters like u. Bet his confidence is sky hi reading this site. The boy will be quality just needs more confidence.

Personally i think should have watched the game better, he came on 60 mins in when arsenal were dominating and we were sitting back hitting them on the counter, in a game were he wasnt up to speed due to arsenal pressing etc, he's a kid, what next rossiter was crap and should be dropped to bar having sanchez and ozil in his pocket?

really wonder why some people moan about youngsters not getting game time then they do and get slaughtered for it, give them a bloody chance were you as good as him at football at 19?

24 Aug 2015 22:36:00
He is better than Sterling they say. precise 10 times.

24 Aug 2015 22:36:59
Not his best but we must have patience with him, he is a young bloke.

24 Aug 2015 22:39:34
He had a bad 20 minutes, but he's 19 and I think we could stand to cut him a bit of slack. Players generally aren't the complete package, especially mentally, at that age.

Y'know when people we're on Sterling's back at the start of the contract saga and suggesting he wasn't even that good and that we had Ibe who was better, I speculated as to how long it would take people to turn on Ibe. But I thought it'd be longer than three games.

With Firmino, Lallana, Coutinho and Markovic on the books we can afford to manage him and won't have to rely on him as our only attacking outlet. He'll be fine over the whole season lads, relax.

Oh, and before you type "But Joe Gomez is 18 and had a great game", remember he's the exception rather than the norm for players that age.

He was shocking tonight but it is early in the season so il give him some time, also let's not forget it was arsenal who in my opinion are the hardest team in the league to play against, for all The nice footy we can play they can match us.

24 Aug 2015 22:43:57
I said last week sadly I don't think him to llanna are up to it . Comparisons with Sterling are way off with Ibe

24 Aug 2015 22:46:40
I think it would be foolish to play with one less player.

He had the worst 30mins he'll likely ever have in his career. Is he 19 or 20?

He had a stinker. It will still be a good learning experience for him and he will still be an excellent player.

24 Aug 2015 22:49:48
so sterling was good every game then? anyone for forgotten the countless missed sitters he had?

24 Aug 2015 22:52:17
Yeah agree that he was poor tonight, but he is like 18 and coming on against Arsenal at Arsenal when they were having their best period.

I don't think he's at a level to win or change games, for that reason i'd play him more against teams we really should beat and beat comfortably or introduce him as sub into games when we are 2/3 - 0 up. I'd have liked to see Ings and his pace and desire given a go ahead of Ibe tonight.

Still a fantastic prospect and should stay rather go on loan.

24 Aug 2015 23:03:37
Get a grip for gods sake. He is young, he is going to be inconsistent. He was on scraps playing with his back to goal. He is not that type of player, get off his back

24 Aug 2015 23:13:11
Have all the haters had a bad experience from life? Did you learn from it? Sometimes you learn more from a bad experience than you do from an easy unchallenging task.

Lets hope that he gets to learn from that and the experience.

Let's give him time before we slate him - last season wing back, this seasdon, he's already played in two positions within 3 games.

24 Aug 2015 23:34:19
No people , I'm going with harry on this. He's young and needs time but he's been nothing to write home about these 3 games . He should come of the bench then as he doesn't deserve a starting spot currently

Ibe was brought on when we were sat at the edge of our area simply trying to absorb and boot away any arsenal threat. He covered well for Clyne when he sauntered up field, took up his defenses lines well, and sat deep.
going forward he gave the ball away twice which I think was avoidable, but alternatively we were massively lacking in options up there.when we had chances to break,we simply didn't committ to the break and left it to Moreno,Ibe Benteke, and when he was on Firmino.

Whereas I know stats aren't everything.

Arsenal 1st half
possession-57%
Shots -3
on target-1

Arsenal 2nd half
Possession-67%
Shots-16
on target4

Arsenal clearly had a much MUCH stronger 2nd half
we fouled 8 times and received 4 yellow cards having received no cards in the 1st half. To say Ibe was poor is unfair,we were being battered as Arsenal threw in the kitchen sink.

If you're good enough, you're old enough. Judging the last 3 performances, he ain't good enough.
I was hugely impressed last season with Ibe. What's happened??!? His first touch and awareness are aweful.

Possible idea to send him out on loan to one of the lower level Prem teams??? Less pressure, a lot more game time in the top flight? Perhaps I'm being a bit trigger happy.
