Sakho not getting into the latest France squad, will that make his mind up about leaving or not, or will that spur him on do break into the first team?

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Aug 2015 14:32:05
depends on his attitude, whether he takes the easy way out

27 Aug 2015 14:42:56
I said before Sakho once again really needs to start thinking about his future as a footballer,im sure if he's made available there will be plenty of suitors. I don't think he'll get a fair crack of the whip here,we have enough central defenders to cover him moving on.

27 Aug 2015 14:51:12
Facts are he's not wanted by a managed who is known for sticking to his players and he's going to want to be playing in the euros for France at the end of the season if I was him i'd be off

27 Aug 2015 15:16:27
It's not about "taking the easy way out" at all. Sahko IS our best defender, this much should be obvious. Why he's not being picked ahead of Skrtel or Lovren is beyond me.

People say that he's clumsy on the ball, but that just isn't true. Would you say Crouch is clumsy on the ball just because he looked it? I think it was in his first game and almost his first touch of the ball(Sahko) and he pulls off this skillful flick and turn which totally screwed up the guy pressing him, then he got the pass away.

I know he was the guy that passed the ball to Gerrard who slipped but guys, get over it.

No surprise really he came back into the team for the hammering at Stoke and was dreadful, France have far better than him

27 Aug 2015 16:14:56
@HSF
Why would you replace Skrtel or Lovren at the moment when they've held 3 clean sheets?? Not saying their better than Sakho but I'm happy he's put a partnership together and sticking with them - that's the only way you create a good defence you match them and stick with them for a good run of games - If you were Skrtel or Lovren now after keeping 3 clean sheets and get dropped for the next game then how would you feel honestly? Their job is to keep clean sheets along with Migs and they've done it haven't they?

Norfolk, taking the easy way out? That is an odd comment coming from someone who clearly doesn't know who Sahko is. Sahko started for PSG at 16 and was captain as well. You tell me what's easy about that? He is our best CB and the clumsiness on the ball is just rubbish. Agger was elegant on the ball yet got bullied by other strikers. The striker that can bully Sahko in the PL hasn't been born yet, IMO. The boy can defend period and that should be the main point and not worthless aesthetics. He has a manager who won't pick him not because he's not good enuff, but because he never wanted him here YET he oversaw his arrival and played him a lot. That is not fair competition. That is favoritism.

P/S: For anyone to even try to blame Sahko for SG miscontrolling a pretty easy pass to his feet, is by far, the most disgraceful piece if rubbish I've ever heard of.

27 Aug 2015 16:57:07
We have replaced Sakho last summer with Lovren. get over it guys.

27 Aug 2015 18:28:16
Instead of fighting for his place at PSG he put in a transfer request. That's probably what Norfolk meant by the easy way out.

27 Aug 2015 18:29:31
i don't like sakho. Just doesn't look right on his feet. Bit like a new born bambi? He may of captained psg but we not psg. I don't blame him for the slip but it was the wrong ball, let him go an take you're with him. Free up the pecking order likes of ilori I say.

27 Aug 2015 18:57:04
3 clean sheets speaks for itself.
cant get away from the fact that big sakho looks clumsy to me - which makes him look like he has a mistake just waiting to pop out as far as i can see.
what we have is working for now. can't sakho just wait for his opportunity like all the others currently on the fringes?

Or must we all moan, moan, moan till we get what we want.

27 Aug 2015 19:50:40
3 clean sheets if you count the Arsenal goal and Bournemouth goal both (incorrectly) chalked off. Sakho is our best defender. Lucas is our best DM.

27 Aug 2015 20:05:24
Boy you would think Liverpool have been the only team ever that gained an advantage from an officials mistake. Records will show 3 clean sheets. Move on.

27 Aug 2015 21:15:50
3 clean sheets does not speak for its self at all. Not when you consider the opposition and the form they were/are in.

Stoke have improved their squad lately, but they're not exactly a top team, Bournemouth are a newly promoted side, keeping a clean sheet against them should be guaranteed in all honest and Arsenal are about as toothless as a 94 year old man at the moment. 0 goals in their last 5 home games or something similar. A JOKE!

So why are we celebrating 3 cleans sheets vs the teams we've played? If we'd have kept a clean sheet against an Arsenal that scores goals I'd be happy, but that is not the case.

At the end of the day, Skrtel will cost us goals, probably quite a few. The only reason people think he's so good, is because of the highlight reels he's able to put together. The last ditch tackles and the head injuries he keeps getting from putting his head anywhere he wants. He still plays people onside all the time, he's still not opening his mouth and talking to his team mates and he's still lunging into tackles and pulling shirts 24/7.

I'm not saying Skrtel is a bad player, he's not. But he's not what we need right now. People complained about Carragher not being able to play a high line any more, well Skrtel is even worse at it and has never been able to do it.

27 Aug 2015 21:24:47
That's the sort of comment that opposition fans throw at us, mu got 6 pts from two deflected goals,

27 Aug 2015 21:30:45
Sakho was better than Lovern last year easily, so can feel aggrieved that Lovern took his place in the first three games. I think he is better, he is stronger, better in the air, better passer and more confident. for me he is one of the most elegant players we have. I guess BR gambled on Lovern because he wanted to rebuild his confidence and thought it will be harder to do with him coming from the bench.

Still I understand why Sakho wants to play and prefer to start elsewhere rather than coming from the bench. Exactly like Milner (and very much unlike Borini).

I said couple of day ago that I would try Sakho as a DM. I think he has the skills for this role and I admit that unlike many here I think that Lucas is over-rated, he plays basically as a fifth defender and is partly to be blamed for the fact we don't have midfield game.

But assuming this will not happened hopefully starting three weeks from now we will start to have two games a week so he will play at least once a week.

What I dislike about Sakho is that he does appear to pass other players into trouble. It isn't the technique behind the pass but the actual choice of pass, or the time it takes for him to complete the pass, that bothers me. Not that he does it all the time but he does it enough for me to notice it.

{Ed001's Note - maybe he believes a player should be able to keep the ball under pressure, like he does? Certainly Barca's academy teaches all its players to receive the ball under pressure and deal with it. It is a big part of their success in recent years.}
