Sad to think that Ilori's first appearance at Anfield is going to be for Villa.

Well, no, because he can't play against his parent club in the PL

But if they buy him next summer it will.
Eds do you know anything about 'option to buy' loan deals? Are they binding or can our new manager decide next summer he'd actually quite like to keep Ilori? Thanks

{Ed002's Note - Obviously, if it is an "option" they are not binding. The option is on the side of the club who have taken him on loan and the player.}

Yes so if Villa want to exercise the option but Liverpool don't want to sell we don't have to right? Wouldn't end up with a Ricky Álvarez situation in reverse would it?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool are bound by the contract as well. Why is this so difficult for you to understand?}

i am sorry guys, but ilori has no future at the club. i mean its logic if you read ". loan with an option to buy. " the manager has no interest in the player.
you only send a player with an option to buy, when you feel he is not wanted anymore.

As Eds have stated in the past, contracts with various clauses can be quite complicated, so I just wanted clarification on where we stand with Ilori, really no need to be rude. Thanks very much for the answer.

{Ed002's Note - You seem to be struggling with the concept of the word "option" - it is being used literally. It really isn't difficult.}

Ed the option will be a set price won't it? Do you think we have over priced him and may get lucky tbay villa don't want to pay it or if they do we might make a pretty penny?

When I say pretty penny I dint mean 20/30/40 mils before anyone has a pop

But 10 mil would be a nice start to hezt summer 😊

{Ed002's Note - The money from any of the "to buy" deals will be used for the purposes of getting Liverpool out of the FFP mess they are back in to this year. In the same way as the Aspas money went in to last years FFP accounts.}

Option to buy as I read it means that if the club ultimately wish to buy him and the player wishes to be bought by that club then he's gone.

I predict villa won't exercise their option.
