Ed001 you've said you think Rodgers will get a lot more time than he realistically should, do you think that could be Gordon would rather not sack him now and have to potentially make O'Driscoll a caretaker and then have to deal with getting someone in who is permanent? At this point in the season a caretaker would seem very iffy until the summer and I could hardly think of us getting in someone who could actually sort us out. Thanks for all the excellent work on the site (to all the Eds not just Ed001) and I look forward to the next podcast.

{Ed001's Note - well realistically he should have been long gone, but yes, I don't think they will move before possible options are available. Not every season ends at the same time as ours.}

At the end of the day the owners only have there selfs to blame for not getting rid of Rodgers.

I just don't understand how after last season he kept his job.

notevery season ends the same time as ours, is that a hint ed ?

thanks

Are you suggesting that Bob Bradley is a serious target? I live in Norway and trust me when I say that he is not the man.

13 Sep 2015 16:36:14
There is nothing to suggest that Bob Bradley is the person LFC are taking advice from or that LFC are going to look to him for as a future manager. I know a player who plays for Bradely, who says he is a good manager though somewhat narrow-minded.

{Ed001's Note - if you say so, but I would take the word of someone within the club who knows Bradley has been spoken to for advice over yours anyday. Whether or not they would look to him as a future manager I have no idea, but he has certainly given advice.}

13 Sep 2015 16:49:00
That's news to me Ed001. The player I know who plays for Bradely know nothing about Bradley giving advice to LFC, but my observations were based on that Ed002 hasn't told us that Bradley is the guy/guys LFC have been seeking advice from. IMO Bradley is the type of manager you put in place if you are developing football, not if you are trying to assert themselves and improve drastically.

What about Bielsa Ed001? He's resigned as Marseille manager so is therefore available. A possibility?
Also can we all start a petition online to FSG to get this man who is damaging our club out? What's it going to take for MG to see what's going on.

{Ed002's Note - I would very much doubt that someone who doesn't speak English would be appointed any time soon.}

13 Sep 2015 17:34:46
Bradley is defo not the answer

{Ed002's Note - Bradley would actually be a very good option. But he has a job and Liverpool has a manager.}

13 Sep 2015 17:48:34
Biesla is also a very volatile character, You should search how he has quit teams in the past. No way should Biesla be anywhere near the list of options.

{Ed002's Note - You are correct, he is far from stable.}

13 Sep 2015 18:06:08
Ed002- you said Bradley is a good option. Could you explain what sort of manager he is in terms of style as I've not seen anything of any of his teams

{Ed002's Note - He will work with the players he is given and has 30 or more years experience as a coach, often reviving clubs that are running on empty, evolving them in to winning sides. He will adapt the style of play to suit the players, and get the best out of players, rather than try and force the players to change paradigm and player in a way not suited to them. He is dedicated and intelligent and is extremely well respected within the game at all levels - including the players. He is good and straightforward with the press.}

13 Sep 2015 18:13:29
Ed002 why do you think Bradley would be a good option?

{Ed002's Note - See just above Barry.}

13 Sep 2015 18:21:41
Don't really understand how not speaking English would be a problem, is it a case of the owners not wanting a non English speaking coach or beisla not wanting to work where he doesn't speak the language ed?
You would probably get more sense out of beisla than Rodgers anyway regardless of what language they speak, Rodgers may speak English but also complete garbage.

{Ed002's Note - Really, you don't see the inability to be able to communicate with the owners, board, fans, press and most of the players an issue? Are you aware of the problems at Marseille where he had a translator?

Perhaps Chinese institutional owners and a manager who is unstable and unable to communicate with anyone at the club is just what Liverpool need? To cap it all, Joey Barton as Director of Football - as the fans know it is important to have a club "legend" in a high profile position.}

13 Sep 2015 19:01:05
I don't think Bradley is someone LFC should consider as the next coach. Wile he maybe well respected within football and has done well in the US, aside from his time with Staebek, he has never managed at a senior level in Europe, and certainly has not managed at a level as high as in the PL. FSG don't need any advise to know that there is no real substitute for experience and quality, and IMO Bradley will be nothing but another "punt".

13 Sep 2015 19:20:50
Cheers for that Ed002 sounds the complete opposite of Rodgers in many ways, builds round the players he has and their strengths rather than forcing them into his style. And would be nice to hear a press conference not involving the words character and saying we were outstanding in a 3-0 loss

{Ed002's Note - If Liverpool do decide the time is right for a change, he would be a good option and one which they may well consider. His season is up in early November.}

13 Sep 2015 19:55:04
I've met Bradley a couple of times. He's an extremely nice guy and more than happy to speak at length about tactics and such with fans. I have no real thoughts on him as our manager, but I don't think he would be as terrible as many might think particularly if paired with a very good Sporting Director type.

That said, if the largely American owners appointed a not so well known American manager, I think many supporters from a certain supporter's section might just about have a mass aneurism.

13 Sep 2015 19:56:54
Was trying to be funny ed.
I see your not in the mood.

13 Sep 2015 20:08:25
Thanks Ed01, on the lowdown on Bradley. I live in the states and I only knew him with the MLS teams he coached as well as the national team. It seems u are well informed about his credentials. Do you think he will do a good job because he will have very good players to work with, IMO? Cheers!

{Ed002's Note - You are making it sound like he has agreed to become the new manager. Liverpool has a manager right now.}

13 Sep 2015 20:09:20
Sorry! My post and question was for Ed02

13 Sep 2015 20:16:30
Sorry Ed who is Bob Bradley please?

{Ed002's Note - RTP.}

13 Sep 2015 21:25:03
Thanks for that Ed.Defo Bradley seems a good option,we shall see.

14 Sep 2015 07:09:38
Hey Ed001,

Ed002 is impressed by Bradley, you're not. What reasons do you have to counter ed002's argument?

And what kind of advice did he give Liverpool?

{Ed001's Note - because his record is unimpressive. He is better than some options, but just not ideal.}
