So, I've been away for a week, what have I missed? Does everyone love Rodgers again?

I jest of course. We do seem to have reached a tipping point where most people on the site have gone from 'I don't think Rodgers is good enough' to 'I hate Rodgers and his stupid face' which got me thinking, what if he does turn things round? What if we start playing well, accumulate 75 points and come 4th, maybe even win a cup? Have you reached the stage where no amount of improvement will make him good enough in your eyes?

Not saying I think this is likely, no one will argue that the way we're currently playing is good enough, just a hypothetical 'what if?'

Have you missed the relegation form over the past 6 months then? One average performance and win against Villa changes that? You're nearly as delusional as Rodgers

28 Sep 2015 10:32:52
Yes u have reached the stage. Not that would be even remotely possible under the snake oil salesman

28 Sep 2015 10:33:07
There are no hypotheticals in Brendan's case. The Man has done an awful job so far and has set himself up for the sack which he fully deserves. I cannot imagine him changing any sane fan's mind with the little time he has left. There are at least 4 better managers with better teams in the league that will finish above us. so champions league will be out of reach next season as well unless we win the Europa, which will be a mammoth task.
No one hates Brendan. They hate his arrogance, ineptness and what he has done to the club.

Apparently no one knows how to answer a hypothetical question.

If we played good football from now and made the top 4 and won a cup, i would be delighted, and i wouldn't be calling for BR's head, but if he were to go and somebody else came in I wouldn't be outraged either.

28 Sep 2015 11:09:53
Essex, as they say in school, always read the question before you answer it.

28 Sep 2015 11:24:00
He's from Essex. He doesn't speak English. He made a good effort at writing in English but I will tell you what he meant to say (I dated a girl from Romford earlier this year and learnt to understand what they mean when they try and talk English):

"Omg, naa m8. Rodgerz jus ain't reem enuff 4 us anymor. 'E ain't gut wat it takez. 'Is bin so bad dis seezon dat i'm well jel of United havin Van Gall. Ygm bruv? 'Is teeth shine brighta then me missus vajazzle."

28 Sep 2015 11:39:08
I have answered this already on the others page, always want us to be winning. Would i change my mind about rodgers, probably not, he does not get it for me. Shoot for the stars and you might surprise yourself, top 4 and a cup should not be our ambition and i would say the same if i was a palace supporter. If you aim for mediocrity then that's all you will get and considering the state of the league at the moment a top manager would be looking to take us on and win it with the resources he has had at his disposal.

Everyone's capable of redemption but it's the style of play as much as the results that's convinced me, and the belligerent sticking with a playing style that doesn't suit and that hasn't worked, playing people out of position, isolating quality players, and his ego that rears it's head at every mini recovery means it's unlikely to be an easy road back to earning our trust again. He's made the first miniscule baby step with Ings and Sturridge upfront though!

28 Sep 2015 11:51:28
Now now, no need for that, I was originally born in Essex and if I someone who couldn't take a joke I might have got so offended my vajazzle diamantes would have fallen off!

28 Sep 2015 12:01:03
If he got us to 4th place then by definition he would be good enough and that would be enough to keep most fans happy.
The real issue is that most fans have seen enough already to convince them that we will not get 4th place, and that rodgers is not the right man for the job.
They do not want to risk throwing away another season with poor performances and dire football, and you are one of those people who have already lost faith in rodgers ability, the time to act is very soon.

28 Sep 2015 12:18:13
We won't get 75 points.
And even in the hypothetical situation he won a carling cup and got 4th,quite frankly it's still not good enough
As I keep saying,he shot himself in the foot saying ''when you spend £100 million you should be winning the title'' Well he's spent £280m+ and gone backwards. So by his own standards he should be challenging for 1st not 4th and picking up a cup half the teams don't care about.

The Europa league and 4th may earn him a stay of execution for some fans, but not for me,he's not learnt from errors,he's playing poor football,he's peed off a lot of players, spent a fortune. He needs to go regardless.

28 Sep 2015 12:38:39
Pretty clear I did 'answer the question'. He won't get us near 75 points or anywhere like that!

28 Sep 2015 12:38:50
Best scenario is we finish 4th, win a cup and The owners realise to progress further they need a proven winner, like Klopp or Carlo. Rodgers gets us to where we want to be, gets a trophy so both he and we can part on good terms with some fond memories.
Ilori does amazing at villa but rejects perm move as a new manager joins. Joe Allen drives off to find Brenden and isn't seen in Liverppol again. Both Lovren and Skrtel take lucrative offers in UAE, LFC accept £20m a piece from Al absomething

28 Sep 2015 16:41:58
We spent the whole of last season asking these same questions yet the same mistakes he made then that got us nowhere, are still being made now. so what's going to change, muscatred?

28 Sep 2015 17:31:42
Ohio,

Not saying anything is likely to change, this was more about what would people feel if it did change? Has he burnt so many bridges that even if he met our ambitions would people still want him gone?
