Alright lads. I think klopp is a decent manager to come in and take you up the table a bit. How far I'm not too sure. He's done brilliantly in his career but also has a few blemishes such as a relegation, and Dortmund weren't to good last season. But clearly he is a good manager. I think Ancelotti is probably as this moment the better. But Klopp has age on his side.

What I wanted to say was, I'm sure your all looking forward to attacking high press football again and rightly so. But be cautious too. You played that way two years ago and nearly made it. But a lot of that was down to the genius of Suarez. The issue was conceding to many goals and you can't win this league shipping 1.5/2 goals each game. What I am saying is, to play attacking football with high press and succeed you need a dencent defence and keeper to bail you out when the inevitable counter attacks come. I'm not convinced skyrtl, sakho and mignolet offer that assurance and so maybe the wise thing would be not to go to attacking and find a nice blend. Then reinforce the defence and keeper before really going for it? Interesting times ahead

Thanks for your interest Stand one thing to know is we have a far better manager than you lot, so chin up lad.

Are you really a MUFC supporter ,you sound quite sensible!

08 Oct 2015 22:01:37
If he could persuade Rues and Hummels to join we could really go places. .

Fair point mate- we don't have the threat we had on the break with suarez, but on the other hand klopp will have the whole team much much better drilled on counterattack than rodgers ever did, and sturridge plus benteke are still a pretty dangerous pair.
With klopp and suarez I'd back us to win the league, but as things stand we'll still be a major contender for a CL place next season.

You can always tell when some one hasn't actually watched Sakho. And just gone off what mick down at the local has told them.

While you do speak with reason it does seem as though all the rival fans are being extremely biased against our new appointment despite the fact every team in the league would love to have him.

Van Gaal is arrogant and overrated, count
i can see him eventually leaving under a cloud when his luck is revealed. United have been so lucky getting good results this year and last i don't even know where to start.

Mourinho is also a self righteous arrogant manager, who will probably do the same as van gaal and leave when he has alienated the whole team with boring tactics and poor team selections.

Wenger is quickly turning into a huge fraud, arsenal never look any closer to winning the league or the champions league each year, i don't even think its their technical ability its just wengers inability to change tactics and motivate his players correctly for big games.

Then you have spurs, who have a pretty solid team to be honest, and a good coach, so i would not be surprised to see them do okay eventually, if they stop believing harry kane is the best centre forward in the world.

And then you have everton, who also have a good team, but a manager who is essentially the spanish rodgers and that will come back to haunt them when the going gets tough again like last year.

Theres also city, who i believe to be the best team in the league by a mile with a solid coach and the only true world class players in the league - they will walk the title this year.

However amongst all this you have us, who have a decent squad who's confidence is below rock bottom and a lot of players who are disillusioned with their own careers most likely. Unlike the other top clubs bar city, our new manager isn't a complete arse, not yet at least. Not only is he the coolest and most charismatic man in football, he also has a winning track record and everybody loves him, from players to pundits to fans all over the world, to every tom dick and harry who tried to get him to sign up with them.

Point is, i don't know why all the other clubs are being so bitter, probably out of jealousy, but i'd be asking serious questions about 3 of the 4 big managers in the league and their teams. Klopp will improve us and pick us up, and if he can get our confidence off the ground, there is no reason we cannot get into the top four or even top three. I really don't see why rival fans seem to think they are still in such a more dominant position than liverpool at the moment.

Mighty reds, whenever I post on here I always hope your too busy job hunting to bother replying. You can't have sensible chat so why bother?

Bobatron, how do you know what I watch? For your information as a genuine football fan I watch all the premier league games and have seen sakho enough times to make my own judgement. Do we all have to share your views? For me he is like bamby on ice and often gets caught out of position. Plenty of better CB in the league than him

Thanks for your concern Stand, but I'd rather Sakho than Blind anyday. Also thanks for stating the obvious that we need to work on our defence, don't think any of us knew that

08 Oct 2015 23:23:02
Where have I skated Klopp? Or been bitter in any way? I've actually commented that you have a very good manager. I'm just saying the side still has improvements needed to win the league. And I stand by that

{Ed002's Note - The vegetables are restless and embarrassing themselves. Hopeless and embarrassing.}

I appreciate Sakho more at the ground than on the box.
The TV focus just doesn't do him justice. He's regularly in the top 3 performers on match day IMO.

Suarez WAS a genius. A mad genius, but a genius nonetheless. But the defense also contributed two years ago. Sometimes Martin Skrtel scored one goal for each side, just to be fair about it. Original poster, did you say attack and press cautiously?

09 Oct 2015 02:52:50
I agree with some of what you said Stand Utd, but I think a part attack/part cautious approach isn't the answer, it's just papering over the cracks.

The reason we conceded so many in 13/14 was Gerrard isn't a DM, our CBs were disorganised and our GK didn't have any confidence stepping off his line (none of which we've fixed apart from perhaps playing Lucas more often) so we were always badly exposed on the break or at set pieces.

We need to play a proper aggressive defensive midfielder (Lucas or even Milner can do a job there IMO but long term would like to see a Carvalho/Kongdogbia/Bender), recruit a new top top GK, and find a CB pairing that works (Lovren or Gomez/Sakho would get my vote but would love to see Hummels) , then go and attack and attack some more! Yes we'll concede but we'll also be more likely to make top 4, enjoy watching the game again and scare the life out of the other top sides, and maybe compete in Europe for a change.

Thank you, Stand! We'll take it from here.

09 Oct 2015 09:10:47
Stand, there aren't plaenty of centre backs better than sakho. He might look like bambi on ice but he has one the best ranges of passing of any CB in the premier league ,controls the tempo in defence, and doesn't panic in possession,he reads the game and covers brilliantly when his partners or left back are out if position,I don't know who you have watched, but clearly you haven't watched Sakho if you don't rate him.
