I don't understand why people are 1. Getting their backs up about gary mac and 2. Wanting to appoint ex players into the coaching team. For gods sake we have just appointed an amazing manager who has filled everyone with renewed hope. He is bringing his own backroom staff who are a huge part of his successes. Why would any fan try to force someone onto him that he doesn't want? Let the man do his job. Sentimentality has been the detriment of this club for far too long. Back to moores and parry and the famous 'liverpool way',they stalled the progress of the club with this sentimentality and its been inbred to the fans. Look at what klopp said about history today. that's the outlook we should have.We can't keep carrying it. Surely we want the best men for the job not just people affiliated with liverpool. Rafa brought his own team and didn't get any calls for ex players to be involved.

Ye I don't understand all the calls for gerrard carragher etc. But I do feel for gary mac he has been let down by the club

Gary Mac has not bee let down by the club. It is customary on bringing in a new manager that large swathes of the old regime go. Therefore everyone in the Rodgers Regime knew the minute they took the job, that they were only safe while he remained in post (and even then not guarenteed).
It's a cruel game, with high stake, and no room for sentiment.
