Just read ed2 comments regarding Dortmund players.
Centre Half has to be a priority - don't care how many are on the books, they're not good enough.
I would welcome Subotic with open arms. not getting ahead of myself though. Would be a decent step up imo.

Subotic would be great for us imo. He is out of favour at Dortmund with Hummels, Sokratis and even Ginter being preferred by Tuschel. Joining LFC could be a fresh start for him after the last couple of seasons marred by injuries and disappointing performances. On his day, Subotic is one of the best CBs in the world and Klopp could be the man to make him believe in his abilities again. Sakho, Subotic, Gomez and Ilori should be our CBs next season. All good on the ball and a mixture of pace and power to show for it. Skrtel is past his best and Lovren needs a fresh start somewhere else so hopefully both are moved on in the summer.
Sven bender is another i would take from Dortmund if they are willing to let him go. Quality CDM when fit of course.
I would also look to sign Ron Robert Zieler who is affordable and playing for a club below LFC's level at the moment and who would surely jump at the chance to be 1st choice under Klopp. Subotic, Zieler and Bender in for Migs, Skrtel, Lovren and Allen is the way to go imo.

So basically Brendan got bollocked for not giving iloro a chance or not going with Gomez at the back yet were now ok with klopp going for another player to block the path of the youth.
I am in dream land we got klopp but don't become hypocrites. It may not of been you intial poster who wanted the youth played but a lot did under Brendan and now there changing there tune. Just annoying.

People wanted youth played because they couldn't be any worse than skrtel and lovren. there's nothing wrong with the balance of senior players and youths. Its not hypocritical. His post states gomez and illori and sakho and subotic should be the centre backs next season. Meaning we clear out skrtel,lovren and toure. Which essentially would give the youth the chance whilst also having experienced centre backs to learn from. Its about balance.

How exactly is Subotic going to get in Ilori's way? I clearly mentioned Skrtel and Lovren out, with Toure's contract expiring in the summer. That is 3 senior CBs out so obviously the club will sign at least one experienced CB and give Ilori a chance as well. Sakho, Subotic, Ilori and Gomez as our CBs next season. If we want to compete on all fronts, we need 4 competent CBs, hence why the club should go for Subotic if the opportunity arises.

Why not go with gomez, ilori, sakho and toure?
When we all complained why was love bought were not ok with subotic getting bought because it's klopp.

I don't think he'll sign anyone in January, he's more likely to sell IMO.
This season is a freebie for him, he can't really fail.
3 months is not long enough to fully assess all the players.
If he signs someone in Jan, he will start to be judged.
I expect him to see how this squad goes, sell some fringe players, assess the loan players and then look to strengthen in July.

Relax guys. The games all about opinions. Simply put, by the time we get to the summer, if Klopp decides to buy another centre half it will be because he deems the current centre half's not good enough! You could argue that he should play the youth but that's a big risk!
My opinion was, and still is, buy 1st team quality, promote youth to the squad. If this means selling 3 or 4 current centre half's in 1 or 2 windows, so be it!

Play youth but that's a big risk. It wasn't when Brendan was in charge! I love klopp and I am delighted we have him but can't we stop being hypocrites.

I think we need 2 senior experienced CB's at least. Gomez is young, while Illori is untested in the PL, I don't see how we can expect either to be thrown in the deep end just yet.
Both have great talent and should get game time but that's not the same as not having an experienced first team, it's about giving them a chance in cup games and against weaker teams, building their confidence and planning their gradual integration.

No need for toure to stay another year. 4 cbs is the usual right, so sakho is one, Gomez one, maybe ilori but people seem to forget he is yet to play a premier league game. Skrtel is no longer good enough, and lovren never was in a red shirt in afraid, so 1 centre back and maybe 2 of ilori isn't preferred
