Adam
you said a lot more than just coutinhos head was turned.
Fans should support the players who have consistently been great for us.

I said Firmino is the better player which i still stand by and that if Coutinho left we could cope with his loss.

He's been inconsistently great for us actually. Before yesterday his last goal was against Stoke in the opening game of the season was it not? He has been playing poorly which is why i would've dropped him.

Fair play though, Klopp kept him in and Coutinho played very well. Perhaps Teixeira's performance midweek and his presence on the bench gave Coutinho the kick up the back side he needed.

Coutinho was over played, he needs a rest once in a while.

02 Nov 2015 12:50:45
And Firmino might prove to be a better player once in form and fully setteled but right now he is not Adam.

02 Nov 2015 13:00:15
Even if coutinho is not on it he's the only player you would fancy to produce abit of magic to win the game. Lallana and Milner have been worse, and Milner has proved what a bad signing he was.

Are you guys Sibling? Big Al and Adam? 😂😂😂.

It's not just his goals and assits you need to look at. Fact is you can pretty much just ignore anything under BR because we were playing attrocious slow build up football this season before Klopp with little movement in the final 3rd and a centrebacks that loved tippy tappy passes to one another.
Coutinho I agree was taking pot shots and being wasteful at times, but he was still one of our better players. How some one can say drop hiom for Firmino, who has missed several games from injury at the beginning of the season is quite surprising.
As I've always said and stand by, Coutinho bring a lot more to the game than just goals and assist, (which will still likely improve this year compared to last) He demands the ball from deep, draws in players out of position, dribbles from deep committing more men from the opposition to stop him. He gifted at gliding from th left hand side into any space left in the hole and usually doesn't get picked up. He shows for Sakhos and Skrtel (watch how many times Sakho will pass to him in a game, pretty much by passing the midfield) and in doing so more often than not can turn and fact the goal/play he's got that much room.
Coutinho hasn't been firing, because we as a team haven't been firing in any department. At no point was any call for him to be dropped justified.
Yes his wastefulness trying to score 25 yarders was annoying, but he was still our best player (usually) on the pitch, and had a young 20 year old learning the game in front of him since Klopp became manager.

I called for Lallana and Milner to be dropped as well Al. I wanted Ibe and Teixeira to keep their places. Lallana and Milner yet again offered virtually nothing but Coutinho was exceptional in the second half. Scoring that belter on the stroke of half time really filled him with confidence.

Sabona i don't mean right now i mean in general. Firmino is a proven world class player who was regarded as one of the top 3 players in the Bundesliga alongside Reus and Lewandowski. Coutinho for me is world class on his day but he needs to have more good days!

02 Nov 2015 13:30:45
Firmino proven world class? Big statement. We will see how he preforms for the rest of the season .

02 Nov 2015 13:31:33
Agree with Adam on Firmino. He is an exceptional talent. He would go on to become a better player than Coutinho in future.

02 Nov 2015 13:39:31
I remember you branding Mr. Adam Lallana world class as well. You are very loose with that term and Firmino is not world class, neither is Coutinho. Both might become that one day, but in my humble opinion there are only 2 world class players in the entire world, maybe 4 if you take Alexis Sanchez form into consideration since joining Arsenal and Lewandowski's current form. We have many very good players, but no one really is top class player apart from maybe Jordan Henderson and Mamadou Sakho in my opinion. They are consistent and influence our play massivley. Henderson has like 35 assists in the last 2 seasons which is simply stunning. So in my opinon Henderson is our best player by a mile, followed by Sakho, followed by Lucas, followed by Sturridge, then i think Benteke will become vital as well, then Coutinho. Look at it this way, take away Lucas or Benteke or Henderson or Sakho and you will feel a big drop in the team performance, not so much with Coutinho no matter how brilliant he is when he's on song.

And bro, why the pic of the dwarf? hehe.

02 Nov 2015 14:05:34
Sabona I actually agree with you regarding Henderson and Sakho. However I disagreed with you because I've never said Lallana IS world class. I have said he is the most technically gifted English player since Barnes, I said he was better than Di Maria and I said he could become a world class player in a better side. He seems to have stagnated at Liverpool though.

02 Nov 2015 14:12:28
Sabona, it was just one of my favourite tv shows when I was younger. I love sci fi and comedy and it mixed them both brilliantly.

02 Nov 2015 15:55:27
I was actually refering to EMS Boba! haha! And EMS you are right about Lallana, hopefully he can kick on this season, he is still not close to being clincal enough with his final ball or finish. And he also needs to pass the ball quicker instead of twisting and turning.

02 Nov 2015 16:15:43
oh hahaha.

02 Nov 2015 18:16:03
I think Couts has been better so far this season for Pool but I really like Robbie F, he's looking more settled and happier on the pitch hopefully he carries on improving and as the team regains confidence hopefully we carry on doing well!

02 Nov 2015 18:40:33
EMS, Firmino was good in the Bundesliga but not top 3 at all.

03 Nov 2015 02:25:38
Not slating firmino at all here, I like him, but EMS you said coutinho hasn't scored since Stoke, by firmino hasn't scored yet. We need them both to improve. Coutinho had a bad spell during the changeover period, but is it a coincidence that our best game this season is the one he plays best in? Apart from that our best half was the first away at Arsenal, where he was also brilliant.
