Eds - how close to a return on their investment plan are the owners do you think? From what you tell us

They spoke about success on the pitch as a priority. Not happened.
You talk about significant investment but increasing debts.
No money to rebuild.

Are they happy at present?

{Ed002's Note - They won't be happy because, (a) they have had no on field success, (b) they have had to invest far, far more than was anticipated, (c) the club is carrying a great deal of debt, (d) the new television deal is increasing the interest in investment in EPL sides and money is already going in to other clubs (recently Swansea and Bournemouth - with Crystal Palace up next) - clubs are up for sale even now (e.g. Everton and Aston Villa) and all of this brings new money and potentially investment in the squad - making life tougher going forward.

They will be happy as the value of the club is rising and the new television income will be coming through in 18 months or so.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Can you see the club being sold when this new television deal comes into place?

{Ed002's Note - There is always a exit plan - if the lack of on field success continues and the owners are given a viable way out then they would certainly give it serious consideration. Right now investors will likely want to cherry pick the cheaper clubs where a better return on investment might be possible - Everton and Aston Villa are good examples.}

i think with getting BR in cost them a lot of money that was wasted he never had a clue with a big club, but with Klopp in he will bring success to the club in my mind and that will be the starting point for the success on the field, i think they know deep down their plan with Br failed that's why they went and got Klopp as they know a top manager will more likely bring success on the field than an up and coming one, their gambles have not paid off so they have now gone for the tried and trusted way with a successful manager at the helm who will give the club a better chance of being a success on and off the field, plus the new stand will bring more revenue in both through seats prices and merchandise up and up is the way we go.

{Ed002's Note - I think you rather misunderstand the mount of money the new stand will bring in.}

16 Nov 2015 22:03:11
Would it be right to say ed that the new stand is more a matter of improving the club from an asset standpoint rather than significantly improving revenue?

{Ed002's Note - It needed doing - but it will take years to pay off.}

I don't suppose anyone is aware or not but are they planning on continuing working on any other stands after? Or is the current one the only one in the plan?

{Ed002's Note - They have the existing approved plans and then outline approval to then extend the ground further to a capacity of 59k or so.}
