Eds. I've seeen the post about Studge being injured and out for 12weeks!? This is not right is it. We are awaiting news right?

{Ed001's Note - yes, still awaiting news.}

Would be interested in hearing your take on this Eds. I'm beginning to think some of this is in Sturridge's head. Some players would play on with a limb missing whereas others feel every little knock. I'm not for a second saying he's faking it but i do get the impression there's a psychological factor at play here with him.

{Ed001's Note - there will always be a part of any injury in the head, but the club want to be careful with him as well. He has come through a long term injury and is way behind on fitness, that is always a dangerous time for the body. Before his injury, the training was a much lower intensity and so he was nowhere near the fitness levels required by Klopp. Trying to build up to that level is always going to run the risk of picking up these kind of issues. It just takes time to build up to full fitness.}

Got to agree with Ed001 here. Nothing like the same level of fitness as a pro footballer of course but as at July 2014 I was at 48mins for 10k. I had surgery on my knee in Jan 2015 and even though I was walking in 2 weeks getting back up to anything like the same running speed has been a nightmare, mainly because I'm overcompensating for the left leg and putting more pressure on my right leg causing lots of leg/back niggles. Sturridge probably has similar issues, magnified many times over my issues!

But this was happening before klopp so it might be something to do with his diet/health or the lactic acid in his muscles. I've never seen such an injury prone player.

Sturridge will eventually come good but the team has other problems. Lucas is continuing to bleed yellow cards and we all know that blood is red and that is the next step and Mignolet still thinks that he is playing Rugby Union with his perfect kicks into touch. In that sport failing to release the ball is also an offence. I was disappointed to see Allen in the team yesterday as I still believe that he is not good enough especially as the team is now going in the right direction.

Sturridge has to go.
A replacement has to be found.
Sick note has been doing this far too long.

Mignolet, whilst can make good saves, needs to be No. 2.

Could someone tell me what wrong Allen did yesterday? I must have watched a different match for sure. Milner yet again offered nothing down the flanks as not a single cross went good.

ED001 do you think it's time to start altering his training sessions? From what I've read and seen in interviews Spurs and United did this regarding King and Ferdinand, where they almost reduced the training to nothing with regards to football, relying heavily on the players class and knowledge being retained and focused mainly on keeping them fit and healthy?
Spurs players have said in the tv show fantasy football with merson, that King often just did functional excercises and cardio upkeep, and maybe trained with the first team 10/20 times a year.

{Ed001's Note - yes, I think that needs to be looked at.}

With regard to allen, I have no idea what that backpass was to mignolet when he had to do that poor header, he panicked. I saw him give the ball away cheaply several times especially in dangerous areas, and shoot from 25 when Ibe sat at the edge of the D unmarked with several yards of space. That was mainly just the first half. Allen was NOT good yesterday. Lucas was certainly one of our better players on the field, and had a stormer covering for Joe, and made a lot of necessary fouls when Joe was no where near his man.

You could certainly bring up all those minute details, BOB. Allen did well for me yesterday, He broke up the play well and charged forward when needed. He has the vote of confidence of Klopp and I am damn happy.

27 Nov 2015 21:28:01
For me he didn't break up any real danger, and actually gave the ball away in danger, these were not ''minute'' details, they could have cost the match, How do you feel he has the vote in confidence may I ask?
