Eds, with all the talk about Studge hanging up his boots I was wondering if a club would take out some form of insurance against one their prized assets retiring due to injury? Does such a thing exist?

{Ed001's Note - yes and it is standard.}

Thanks ed. I take it the club wouldn't get as much as if they'd sold him but at least we'd get something.

{Ed001's Note - if he was retiring through injury, how could you sell him?}

27 Jan 2016 21:18:56
Not that there is any question at all about him retiring?

27 Jan 2016 21:33:35
why would he retire when he and his crutches can travel the world paid for by us till he contract runs down?

Very harsh to put it that way Danny. He's not some spoilt brat who deserves that kind of hate. The guy is having a hard time. Give him a break.

Through injury?

27 Jan 2016 23:59:42
Arcrux - was that pun intended?

28 Jan 2016 01:11:06
Arcrux the kid declares himself fit for the glamor games then he suddenly gets injured for the exeter games of the season plus anyone else notice most of are injured players at the game last night how often do u see studge at games when not fit?

27 Jan 2016 21:54:29
You know what I meant ed. we wouldn't get his full value as if he were a fit player being sold. Don't be so argumentative! ;-)

Edd001 is sturridge really considering retiring?

{Ed001's Note - I never said that, we were discussing what happens if a player did retire.}

28 Jan 2016 02:26:09
Danny - they usually show an injured Sturridge at most games that I see on TV.
