Is it just me, or is anyone else being increasingly impressed with Allen? I think I would rather we keep him now than not personally.

Defo he has been playing really well lately. Thing is with Joe he never goes missing and always gives the same level of performance.
And again further proof that we should back our players. I can't say how pleased I am that he has come through all the abuse he took. Totally outrageous really and shamefull.

Refreshing to see a player fighting for his lfc career, something a lot of players havnt been able to achieved in the past. The pressing game seems to suit him but still think he's a little lightweight that can get easily bullied at times although his touch has defiantly improved. fare play to the lad for fighting for his place as I carnt see one of the top4 coming in for him.

I don't think anyone can doubt Allen's ability. I have always liked him as a player. His pace is his biggest issue for me, I've seen in games players breeze past him with sheer power. Now if he is alongside a player who is also strong and powerful, I think he could dictate the game a lot better.

I've been heavily critical in the past when all his passes seemed to go back or sideways as an instinct.
Recently he's been getting his head up and I admit is playing very well.
Needs to maintain it if he is to stay though.

I've been Allen biggest critic. He's won me over this season, I can se the player we thought we were getting. It either shows the quality of Klopp and his team or the lack of quality of Rodgers and his team, that said Allen himself deserves the most credit as he is the one who has to perform to get selected and to improve himself.
I'd keep him and on recent weeks, maybe a nod ahead of Can or Hendo (hurts me to admit that) as a starter. I'd suggest Milner, but he seems to have been shoved out wide right.

The things that are not great about him remain the same for me, he is physically quite weak and looks it at times in a tackle. He doesn't score many goals and probably if he could manage 10 a season he would look a much better prospect as a first team regular. Much as Ron says if he was more progressive with his passing he would look a better player and more effective. Maybe bodgers regime of possession over progression can be schooled out of him by Klopp.

He goes on a good run of form every season and then he has one game where he is useless and it seems to completely destroy him. If Allen can play to his full potential more consistently he is definitely worth having around.

He was always judged on his performance at the DM role which he is not.

His role has definitely changed and it's influenced his ability to move the game forward and influence positively. It's also had an impact because he's not being brushed off the ball in front of our goal - he has more cover behind him. Granted it's been mostly in cameos but he has definitely been doing better - still a candidate to leave but happy to wait till the summer now that he's providing some real value.

Just sell him, he's never going to be good enough as much as he tries, i would rather give his position to branagan, a kid who is already technically better is stronger in the tackle once he improves his in game experience.
