Am I the only one who is hoping Teixeira came off early because Klopp is intending to start him at the weekend?

My initial feeling upon seeing Teixeira having to play with Benteke was disappointment. Big Ben offers little movement for the creativity of Tex. When Origi and Daniel were about to come on I thought Ibe and Benteke would be withdrawn, with Couts and Tex feeding the runs of the two subs. Hopefully Tex gets a chance this weekend alongside the likes of a Coutinho, Firmino, Daniel or Origi. Overall very heartened by our gutsy display last night.

We can live in hope Ed haha! But I find it unlikely! Coutinho, Firmino and Teixeira playing off Sturridge would be a winning combination if you ask me!

I don't think that it will happen though! I'd expect Klopp to go with one of Ibe, Lallana or Milner ahead of Teixeira I'm afraid!

Edd001 you're having a laugh. Klopp doesn't rate him imo and i can see the boy leaving in the summer if things don't change. Lallana will play instead of him. He didn't make the bench last weekend and most likely won't make it again. i'm gutted to be honest by the lads gametime .

{Ed001's Note - how am I having a laugh? How do you know he is not rated?}

Ed01 can you give us your views on the game as a whole last night mate if you have time.

{Ed001's Note - I thought it was a very enjoyable game, with overall mostly good performances. The link up between Teixeira, Coutinho and Smith, in particular, was first class at times. Against West Ham's strongest possible line up, our youngsters pretty much dominated them, which augurs well for the future. Great to see Sturridge back as well. Disappointing to lose, but overall a very positive performance.}

I am having doubts about that, ed. It does not seem that Klopp rates his style of play that much. In all fairness, I think he had a very bright start yesterday, he seems to be bringing speed to his game, which is what he needs badly! I do not believe he will get a long-term chance though.
On a side note, how would you rate Brad Smith and Tiago Ilorri in their defensive play? I am starting to adore Smith, he seems much better going forward than Moreno, but I have a sneaky feeling he is also not good defensively, but I am kind of a bad judge of that aspect of play. Illori seemed to do fine against the strong attackers of West Ham (except the penalty foul) . Do you think this was due to him and the team playing well, or to West Ham being rather weak for large portions of the match?

{Ed001's Note - Smith needs lots of work on his defence, it is a weakness, but he does look better at it than Moreno. He does switch off a bit, loses position, doesn't always get back as quickly as I would like, but overall he looks a step ahead of Moreno.
As for Ilori, I thought he and Lucas worked well together, apart from that one sly pull on the arm which should have given them a pen, he was good. Looks to have real potential, which makes it all the more bizarre that Rodgers never even looked at him.}

Edd001 because he can't get a game ahead of lallana and Milner . he wasn't even on the bench on Saturday and with sturridge and coutinho back he won't make the bench again. Hardly shows he fancies him. Texeira needs a run of games and he's not going to get it here.

{Ed001's Note - if you say so, but I think you are wrong, there is a lot more to it than him simply not being fancied.}

I agree with ed001.

Look at the performance. With better finishing we would have destroyed West Ham.

I really hope that team becomes the regular one. Lallana, Benteke and Milner just fail to impress.

Balotelli will have to return from loan unless we can find a buyer in the meantime.

It would be interesting to see Balotelli under Klopp.
He is not short of skill or pace.

The amazing thing about Sturridge is that he hasn't played for 2 months but comes on and it looks as if he had never been away.

Even more amazing is that flanno has been out for 2 years and looks like he's never been away.

I'm hoping that Lallana and Milner have gotten game time over Tex in order to put them in the shop window or let them prove they are worth keeping. Teixeira's link up play and quick accurate passing was a joy to watch, surely he is worth keeping.

I think Kloppo is holding Tex back for next season. We have loads of players in his position and some need off loading. It will be hard to off load them if they're not playing.

That's my straw and I'm clutching at it 😀.

I do hope so ron. I don't think it would be wise to let this one get away. imagine him after a good run of games under his belt. another bonus for me is that he wants to play for lfc he has the hunger and the desire, and the talent all he need now is the chance.
