Question for the Eds,

Do you think there should be a wage cap in football? Would FIFA be able to set such a thing. Such a cap where it s adjusted depending upon which country you play football in, so that all footballers can earn at the very maximum the same "real" wage.

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - FIFA has no powers to do that and it would be impossible to manage unless the income clubs have is broadly similar.}

At the moment wages and transfer fees are in a bubble. bubbles always pop. All this easy money floating around every where you look will disappear one day soon. when that happens everything will revert back to the mean and below as has always happended throughout history.

It seems more than a bubble, it just seems to be going up and up. I think there should be a salary cap but it would be almost impossible to set up as it's got so far out of hand, you couldn't realistically reduce someone's contract to fit to a cap I wouldn't have thought?

There is potential for much change in the premier league once Brexit is complete.

I would be interested to hear more on that thought Ron.

Well Costa, why can't we impose a maximum of 3 non-UK players in the first team anymore? It would be a restriction of trade under "EU law. "
Why can't we impose a wage cap? - EU law.
Why do players leave "on a Bosman"? - EU law

I'm not saying Brexit is good, I'm not saying EU workers rights are bad. I'm saying, in the case of the premier league there is the potential for much change if it is deemed beneficial to the game as a whole.
