Hi Eds,
There've been occasional posts and responses on here that essentially assume that Naby Keita will be sold before long. I'm just wondering: is his recent playing time (and solid form) an indicator that he might indeed have a future here? I don't mean this as a sort of knee-jerk reaction to him scoring two goals, but I'm more curious as to whether his starts are a reflection of being in Klopp's plans or simply a necessity born of fixture congestion.
Thanks!

{Ed001's Note - it is a reflection of Klopp wanting him to find his way and play himself into the team.}

Keita for sale? That makes zero sense for me. Injuries and good form of other mfs has kept him out, mostly injuries. I don't think we can sell such a big signing when he hasn't even had a run of games. He hasn't. He's coming good, we know klopp won't rush players in, the opposite is true in fact.

He has a little touch of class that maybe none of our other midfielders have. And he is still sound defensively. He's coming good now.

Also if we sold him right now I imagine we'd make a loss.

More than making a profit or a loss, the coaching staff will be far more concerned about what level Keita will be performing at for the foreseeable future. The level of last year, the present level or the next level up (the one of RB Liepzig for which he was bought) . We have seen many instances where players were shelved away and then sold for a loss (Super Mario and Lazar Markovic come to mind) if on field performances have no hope of meeting expectations.

For me it's time to sell. Think we will have to take it on the chin and find a more consistent player.

Nonsense Walt. Just think he’s only 24 and had bad luck with injuries. He’s trying to break into a hardworking and quality midfield in a very unforgiving league. Soon he’ll have been at the club for a couple of years and be completely comfortable with the set up, style of play and his role in it. For a player of his ability about to hit his peak years I think we’ll all start to be grateful and see him as a good long term investment. Yes I’m a big fan - most midfielders would kill for a bit of his natural talent. He’s got attributes that can’t be taught - the hardwork and positional stuff can. and the attitude and application should get better as he matures. Patience and good management is what he needs.

Popeyred of course I would like him to do well for us I just don't see it happening. For a team that's challenging for titles and cups we need players that do better than he has offered.

He's been man of the match for the last two games. For fans who have waited patiently to see him shine, now seems a very odd time to sell. Tbh, I was shocked to even see this mentioned.

Negativewalter, Naby is not getting sold anytime soon. Btw, how's Arsenal doing lately?
