Neco doing well again lastnight. Something should be worked out to keep him at the club next season. As were seeing this year a stronger squad means more games for everyone as we go further into all comps. Although in saying all this is i do accept his form since he went to fulham will probably see bids coming in which the club just won't turn down.

Fulham might want to keep him. Good chance of receiving some decent cash.

I think we need someone to compete with TAA in the team. TAA has the safest spot in the team at the moment and whilst its deserved, sometimes I can't help but to think he is too assured of a spot to put in the extra shift atimes. This is not a dig at him at all. The second goal by Neco yesterday was class and the attempted lob against Blackburn from the center of the pitch, that clattered the bar, would have been the goal of the season. I say bring him back and let him compete.

There were definite signs over Summer and early this season that Neco had moved up a level or two and, as such, he needed to play regularly.
So good move for him at Fulham, who are in good form and play decent football.
He may be better off moving away from us, sadly, as Trent isn’t much older than him and he’d face the prospect of a career as an understudy.

Swap for Clint Dempsey?

09 Mar 2022 09:39:50
Ah the Clint Dempsey transfer saga now that takes me back but at the same time WHAT THE BLOODY HELL WERE WE THINKING 🤦.

{Ed001's Note - he was a good player Dempsey, the mistake was the stupidity of trying to push Henderson out in exchange.}

Dempsey had a remarkable season for Fulham when we were linked to him. Scored some 20 odd goals for them. As for swap we had no cash to offer.

@Ugbees, I understand the need for competition for starting spots but who in world football would seriously challenge TAA as starting right back? The amount that of money we would need to pay would large and - as with Neco - anyone approaching TAA’s level would want to be an automatic starter and most probably would be at virtually any other club.

The options we have with the emerging Bradley and the seasoned pro Milner and the versatile Gomez should be good enough as a stop gap if TAA is injured or rested.

But there's also a lot of times WDW where Trent looks knackered and with Cup games aswell as the chance to win trophies Williams might be convinced to stay. Milner will probably leave in the summer and Gomez is not a fullback. All the other top 6 teams have two established rightbacks why can't we? especially as we wouldn't have had to pay big money for either.

Lad's I was talking about letting Henderson go to Fulham not Clint coming 👍.

Ugbrs, Neco is not the competition Trent requires cos well, Neco couldn’t get games while he was here and not sure he was even competing with Trent. We will have to look elsewhere for competition for Trent, in my view.

Trent is arguably the best right back in the world, you’re not going to find anybody to “compete” with him. Neco could offer good back up if he is happy with that role but I don’t think, when both fit and ready, that Neco ever displaces TAA.

Not without forking out a fortune Seano! And even then the new signing would be on the bench.
