Evening eds1
Do you think it’s time to part ways with ox now. I’ve no idea if he’s injured but he doesn’t seem to play a lot anymore and he must be on a high wage?

{Ed001's Note - it really depends, I would say it would be a higher priority to get rid of Keita myself. We need more reliable players in midfield though, so we do probably need to look to replace both.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I think if Ox stays, it will have a lot more to do with the HG quota than anything else cos I love the kid and he has contributed to our trophy charge on all 4 fronts but I think his tenure has run its course.

09 Mar 2022 19:57:46
For all the dislike of Keita people would have to admit he's further ahead in Klopps plans than Ox seems to be! Will be sad to see Ox go, a top lad and was flying for us before that horrible injury but i think he'll move on this summer.

09 Mar 2022 20:26:57
Jason I agree before that injury he was putting his name down as one of the first 11 but was an awful injury and his never been the same since.
I have never been a fan of Naby since his been here but I would say his form this season has been his best. I think he stays this summer now I think Henderson form this season has dropped a few levels from are league winning season and think he game time next season will be managed maybe taking over Milners role in the squad from a couple of years ago when he played more than what he does now.

09 Mar 2022 20:54:55
Ox has been fit for like 2 years straight now. He's just not playing because the injuries have taken their toll. A massive shame but he's probably behind Hendo, Fabinho, Thiago, Keita, Jones and Elliott now. Hell even Milner seems to be trusted more and he turns slower than Milk now. I think Ox is done. HG quota is irrelevant. His spot will just go to Curtis Jones who needs to be registered next season anyway due to turning 21.

09 Mar 2022 22:09:21
Wish ox all the best but get rid of asap! Keita too good ridden! We need reliable engines in the middle!
Massive clear out needs to be done.

10 Mar 2022 00:25:48
Massive clear out needs to be done? An overreaction there, JW Red.

10 Mar 2022 01:44:38
It’s good to see people saying massive clear out needed and complaining about Keita. The Liverpool go to. He’s actually been putting in shifts and playing pretty well lately but nope. got to go.

10 Mar 2022 02:49:31
There are a few players in the squad that may need to move on to find game time. Keita and Ox are not those players -- when fully fit, Klopp looks to both of them to perform. The issue with both has always been fitness and not application or professionalism. It is a shame that both have been injured so frequently in their careers with us, but I would not wish either of them gone as they do compete at the highest level.

10 Mar 2022 03:27:34
The team challenging for the quadruple needs a massive clear out? And I thought Rio Ferdinand was an idiot!

{Ed0666's Note - I can think of at least 6 players that need to be moved on. I’m not sure if that’s a massive or mini clear out?

10 Mar 2022 04:11:00
Thunderbird Klopp tends to play the same group of players when he can. It's clear there are some players in the squad he doesn't really trust to do the job and so they should be moved on.

10 Mar 2022 06:56:34
I'm just glad Klopp is at the wheel 👍👍.

10 Mar 2022 07:45:31
There's a reason Klopp tends to play the same group of players regularly - continuity. If klopp doesn't trust players to do a job, they ain't here. Ask Sakho etc.

10 Mar 2022 08:23:42
The beauty of us going for the quadruple is that there's been lots of football for the whole squad to play.

In another scenario we could have gone out early in the FA and League cup like we have in the past and some of the squads minutes would have been right down. Due to us absolutely smashing the CL group as well it allowed Klopp to really rotate the squad for some of those games.

I'd imagine though that certain players might not get many minutes now from here until the end of the season in the League or CL as everyone of those games is a cup final and Klopp will go with his tried and tested.

10 Mar 2022 09:16:37
Have to have a clear out to make way for the shiny exciting new signings.

10 Mar 2022 10:19:40
I wonder how many posters who were so against a shiny new toy in January are still upset that we signed Diaz?

10 Mar 2022 10:25:54
Origi minimino ox Keita Adrian Karius Philips one of Gomez/ Matip Milner!
That’s a massive clear out.

10 Mar 2022 10:33:59
Irish rover all big teams competing on 4 fronts have to rotate. It isn't that Klopp never does it but the same people miss out especially in the league and CL. Ox, Minamino, Origi, also Milner rarely starts anymore. It's apparent the club will probably let these players in the summer.

10 Mar 2022 11:57:45
JK im not against signings as such, i just laugh at the fans DYING for the transfer window to get rid of the"deadwood"who have helped us win trophies the last few year and replace them with x and y because their stats on FIFA are off the charts. Its something i'd expect outa my 15 year old not grown men. Diaz was meant to be a summer signing so i only expect Carvalho and one more to arrive in the summer.

10 Mar 2022 12:22:33
JH totally understand that mate and agree. My comment was never aimed as a dig at you. I see lots of posts where people want signings and then lots of posts where people seem dead against signing anyone and use shiny new toy as their argument. Without signings we would only have a squad of Kelleher, Trent and Jones 🤣

It’s all opinions mate.

10 Mar 2022 12:33:58
Bellingham will come in with 3 midfielders going to fund it.

10 Mar 2022 13:18:11
You move players on regardless of what they’ve one with us! Need to snap out if that nostalgic crap he was with us when we won the league etc!
Kenny would be still in the squad the way some think on here! Ox and origi should of been sold straight after the champs league win! Origi was worth more too!

10 Mar 2022 13:38:29
Jay I’d still keep minamino Gomez and matip. Mina has shown to be valuable for domestic cups and is a good 6th option.
I’m a big fan of Gomez but I can understand if he wants to leave. But ideally would keep him as our defence was it’s best with him and vvd together.

{Ed0666's Note - This is all on the proviso they want to stay no?

10 Mar 2022 14:35:08
It may sound as though 3 players leaving so one could come in is a bit FIFA career mode, but i honestly do think we’d get the same utility out of one Jude Bellingham as we are doing out of Milner, Ox and Keita combined right now. None of them can be trusted fully and things often seem to go wrong when one of them is in the midfield. That might be harsh on Milner considering all he brings to the squad as a leader but it does look as though his legs have gone and he is on high wages.

10 Mar 2022 14:42:35
People don't realise though sometimes how good our squad is Jay! its alright saying replace this with that but they have to be clearly better than what we have. Also our squad get along brilliantly, things like that have to be thought of when thinking over the ins and outs of the squad. Look at PSG's forward line last night, UNBELIEVABLE players but do you think Virg, Robbo et all would put up with their laziness and attitude?

10 Mar 2022 14:28:48
Why do people have such an issue with Keita? I thought he came on against Inter and helped steady the ship and played very well. Like he has done all season when called upon.
I have more of an issue with Thiago than Keita. His injury record is atrocious and he constantly gets caught out of position and dwells on the ball way too much.
But he’s Thiago so he doesn’t get criticised because he can ‘pick a pass’ or he rolls the ball under his foot instead of just controlling it like a normal person!
Don’t get me wrong I think both are good players and deserve a place in the squad I just don’t understand why Keita gets hammered but Thiago doesn’t.
Neither have had the impact we hoped for or expected.

{Ed001's Note - Keita has a worse injury record by far and has done nothing but bottle out of challenges and not put in effort. I don't know what you have watched in regards to Thiago, because you are not describing his play at all.}

10 Mar 2022 18:26:30
It's common knowledge that players have to learn Klopp's particular playing system before being given regular starting berths. For some players that takes a lot of time and patience. Others (like Diaz) hit the ground running.
So bearing that in mind I'd say that fans dreaming of a massive clearout and loads of new faces coming in are going to be disappointed. Constantly updating and improving the squad is necessary to stay at the top, but there's a difference between that and wholesale chopping and changing that transfer hungry fans are desperate to see.
The other disappointment will be when the fans favourite whipping boys aren't sold off.

10 Mar 2022 19:10:57
Thiago has played the 11th most minutes in the league out of the whole squad. Not bad considering he’s never fit.

I think it’s not one size cap fits all with how quickly they are thrown in. Thiago arrived on a Friday and played against Chelsea on a Sunday. Same as Diaz he was thrown in pretty quickly.

Mane, Salah, Fabinho and Robbo were all signed in a summer window and Mane and Salah went straight in whilst Robbo and Fab were put in at a far slower rate.

Wasn’t Vvd singed on Jan 1st and then playing against Everton in the Fa cup a few days later.

However Klopp decides it seems to work.

10 Mar 2022 20:37:46
Jadon we do have a good squad but it could be better mate! We’ve a lot of passengers we need some
Engines in the team and players been pushed hard! We have to many sick notes too they need to be gone I don’t care if they are sound blah blah!

10 Mar 2022 21:30:51
Beckers, Thiago doesn’t get criticised on these boards? Are you new here? I can literally name a few posters on here who have rarely had anything good to say about him since he arrived esp last season when he was struggling with injury, fitness and in a bad team.

Even this season, the guy gets criticised all the time for his play or lack of availability or when he does play well like he has been doing of recent, it’s always a “Yeah but. ”. Come on, man.

11 Mar 2022 07:32:35
Managers, especially Klopp, see things differently to fans.
And if we had a lot of passengers in the squad that didn't contribute we sure as hell wouldn't have 1 trophy in the bag already and be strongly in the running for 3 more.
If you want to see a squad full of passengers, look at Manchester United. Or Everton.

11 Mar 2022 11:18:45
Yep Ed, if they’re happy to stay that is. I can’t see why matip would leave when he’s a regular. Mina who knows if he wants to go but if he’s happy, I’d keep him. He’s proven me wrong as I didn’t think he was good enough but he’s proven to be valuable.

Gomez will probably want to leave but if not, definitely keep.
