Really great to see Awoniyi doing so well at Union. He became the clubs joint all time top scorer in the Bundesliga in the last game. 16 goals (5 last year, 11 this year) . Love seeing a young ex-Liverpool player making it and becoming a hero for another club!

Spot on, MKS. want to know a story? In 2013 during the U-17 WC in Qatar I think, Nigeria had a vicious front 2 that literally destroyed every team that came up against them. You know who they were? Taiwo Awoniyi and Kelechi Iheanacho. We all know how both those guys'careers have panned out and they are now part of the national team setup alongside the two guys who replaced them in the following U-17 WC in 2015 in Samuel Chukwuweze (Villareal) and Victor Osihmen (Napoli) . Just a side story BUT I am chuffed to see not just a former LFC player BUT a compatriot doing his thing in Awoniyi.

When he finally got his work permit and we didn't seem inclined to buy a forward this summer, I honestly thought the club would keep him and sell the likes of Origi instead. Glad to see he's doing well though.
