Ed25 I think you might want to hide behind the sofa for the remainder of the season! I feel for Everton them being relegated would be a shame as I genuinely don’t see them
Bouncing back up if it happens. You confident for remainder of season ed25? Do you think lampard is cut out for a relegation dog fight? As from what I’ve seen it was a bad move hiring him in first place.

{Ed025's Note - I think we are down clan. Too many poor players and frank is out of his depth mate 😢..

Agree0 Disagree0

Controversial but big Sam should be brought back until the end of the season he's the only one who will get you out of this mess. Lost 16 out of 17 under lampard who's trying to play like man city with bad players, the worst thing is I could see Everton being in that much of a mess financially with the large wages and no relegation release clauses you could end up doing a Portsmouth and dropping down the next season. I really hope not as I used to go goodison and although I'm a red I wouldn't want you to go down.

The run looks bad too, not many games against teams down there. Unlike Burnley.

Ed025, this could be quite crippling for the club, are there serious financial worries if this happens?

{Ed025's Note - of course there are firmane. I fully expect us to perish this season and you know what it could actually be just what this embarrassment of a club needed mate..

2 games in hand over Leeds, not in the bottom 3, Burnley, Watford are rubbish. Not relegated as it stands. I see why they're worried, but it's not over till it's over.

Opening the new stadium against Wigan could be a fine affair.

Everton are still odds on to stay up. I might have a nibble at that.

Ed25 apart from the players, it is the board that has killed this team and it took years for them to do it. Wasted funds on dross players, poor managerial appointees, poor decision making from the top down and I can keep going. That stuff catches up with you eventually and for people fearing the worst for Everton? Too late. The worst is already here, I feel.

{Ed025's Note - it doesn’t happen often oli but I agree with you mate..

Can't help but think keeping Rafa would have made more sense. I appreciate the ill feeling towards him but he did have tactical ability. Not pleasant on the eye but at this moment it is points Everton require not performances. There again no manager can foresee defensive errors.

I feel like a reset could be best for Everton, not just for the running of the club and the playing staff but for the fans as well. Whether Evertonians want to face up to it or not, the toxic fan culture and mentality is a large part of the reason they are where they are. Their insecurities and aggressive flip flopping on managers and players has bled into the decision making process at the club. Now it’s a whirlpool of negativity that I can’t seem them getting out of.

Maybe a year or two in the championship, detached from Liverpool and any conceptions of who they are and where they should be, could be a good thing in the long run? A bit of time to take stock and just enjoy the football for what it is, rather then getting obscenely angry every week because they’re self conscious about not being where they think they ought to be.

Maybe they shed their skin of hating Liverpool and just enjoy being Everton again?

Regarding managerial appointments at Everton if you look past interim managers such as Unsworth, Royle and big Dunc. There is Moyes, Martinez, Koeman, Ancelotti and Benitez. It is like a European manager hall of fame. Always thought that no matter how poor Everton were there was at least 3 teams worse.

07 Apr 2022 12:41:01
The great pity of all of this is that ordinary people working for Everton might lose their jobs if they’re relegated, and the club’s excellent community work could suffer too.
Moshiri has wasted vast amounts on poor recruitment etc, so you’d hope that he can stump up and help the more worthy out?

Fear for the blues as a kid used to live over the road from Johnny Morrissey can still remember seeing what I now know to be the likes of Kendall Harvey even Eusabio payed a visit during the 66 world cup that and formula 1 at the racecourse and Fangio drinking tea in the Blue Anchor all these memories will mean zilch if your nearest rivals disappear so I hope Cockney geezer pulls a rabbit out of a big hat.

not sure what anyone else thinks, i don't want the Blues to be relegated as i actually enjoy Derby day and it would be missed if they go, I would much prefer Burnley to go don't get me wrong its good to see them struggling but 4th bottom will do them i recon.

07 Apr 2022 15:57:48
Worzal69, I don’t want them to get relegated either cos I enjoy bantering with Ed25 when they lose the derby or get battered in general BUT what can you do when the club keep doing stupid stuff? It’s bound to happen some day?

07 Apr 2022 15:14:37
Can get the Rafa sacking but not hiring Lampard. Should have given Big Dunc the job as he's passionate bout Everton at least. If they can't get DCL back to form quickly its curtains I feel.

Excellent post AW.
A harsh injection of realism, soon see who the genuine fans are if it happens.
