Feeling abit flat today following yesterday's result cause it's no longer in our hands
But being 1 point behind is better than 4 (which was very possible right till the end when Mahrez chipped Alisson) .

Can we win the next 7 games? Yes, even though we have to face utd, Everton and spurs (resurgent)

Can City still slip up? Of course (their run in is easier and they can easily go on 7 game winning sequence but no one expected them to drop points to Palace and the likes) .

Whoever wins it deserves it though I felt we threw it away. The leads we threw away that ended in draws (Chelsea, Brighton, Spurs, Brentford), the loss to Leicester (oh if only Salah scored his pen) . But this is how good we are now - we are no longer hoping to win, we expect to and when we don't, a large part is down to ourselves. But this is why this experience is so enjoyable, the last time we were this good was in the 80s.

Lee the faith and perhaps we still have 4 trophies come the end of this season.

We are more than capable of winning the next 7 and City are more than capable of dropping points in the next 7. But you can also flip that on it’s head and say City are also capable of winning the next 7 and us capable of dropping points.

It’s two great teams going toe to toe and at the moment it’s advantage City as they simply have 1 more point. All we can do is aim to win every game.

We say we are still in the running for a quadruple which at this time of the season is amazing but unless we win those trophies being in for a quadruple in Apr doesn’t bring any silverware.

Our problem from a few years were always about drawing far too many games and the excuses that follows. How did we lose to Brendan I don’t know.

I'm not even going to build myself up for cities games this time. If someone does something against them and we capitalise then great but if not then so be it. I drove myself crazy 3 years ago trying to guess where they would drop points. Mam United- no city win, Leicester - no Kompany scores a screamer. Each time I was as deflated as when we won our games. I'm not going through that again. If they win the next 7 then fair play. They're a great team and I just hope our own great team can pick up another trophy or maybe even two.

Yet more wording incorrectly. I really should get someone to proof read my posts. I meant I was a deflated after a city win as I was elated after a liverpool win.

West ham and wolves away realistically only 2 games I can see city dropping points. If city playing champ league semi final around west ham game it b v tough game for them as long as west ham not playing in europa semi final at same time. West ham wouldn't be fit 2/ 3 massive games like that in short succession.

We have 1 point less than City Harry.

Good result in the end. Performance was just ok if not a little frustrating. It has been this way this season to be honest. We are just playing football differently this season.

I shouldn't complain as we are still alive in all comps but to me, there is a nagging feeling that we are playing in 3rd gear and have actively chosen this.

Don't get me wrong, I am not suggesting we are putting less effort in but I don't think we're really firing or fluid enough yet - and apart from that spell between the West Ham defeat and C.V. outbreak in the squad - haven't done so all season. That in itself is scary given our amazing results - and frustrating at the same time.

Just to re-iterate before anyone gets the knives out, it's absolutely amazing that we're alive in all comps and even in this 3rd gear we are capable of winning most games.

Just looking and hoping for those next two gears to show themselves during the run-in.

I rekon try and enjoy each of these games and the standards both teams are setting. Anything can happen, so hopefully we do out bit.

Trickiest games for me are the Spurs at home and Aston Villa away.
Spurs are playing well, Conte is a decent manager for me and they will come to Anfield not to get beat.
City have an easier run in, but they have a tricky game against West Ham away, and also play Villa and Wolves in a rearranged game.
I predict 6 wins and a draw for the reds, we would need City to lose a game and we need to keep the goal difference on the right side.
That’s how close this is man!

I'm with big baz on this.
I'll be watching and wanting us to win our games and cheering on City's opponent's in their games. Each game at a time.
But we are right in there. I remember the days of cheering on other teams so that a team, other than us, wouldn't win the league. It was usually United that I didn't want to win. And then Chelsea.
Enjoy being in a title race against a team as good as City.
Well, as much as you can enjoy it!

Yea we don’t need to guess which games they may drop points cause no one expected them to drop any points to lead them to the current slender lead. Just let it all play out.

While this season hasn’t be like the last when we won’t the PL, I think this is quite a typical championship winning experience. Someone once said, you are in too gear for about 6-8 where the other team get battered, you are average for abt 24-28 games but still get the result you need and about 2-4 tt at your are crap but someone still get a result or lose but it didn’t matter anyway.

And in the season we won, we scored a number of last min goals or had 1-0, 2-1, 2-0 when we didn’t quite play so well. It’s not the team with most best performances wo the result, it’s the most consistent team that keeps grinding out results event when performance is crap that win leagues and that’s why is the hardest!

I think City have only dropped points to 4 teams this season.

Liverpool twice
Southampton twice
Palace twice
Spurs twice

Sadly none of these teams are left to play them.

11 Apr 2022 12:12:40
I can’t see them dropping any more points.

11 Apr 2022 13:08:07
I'd say Hammers (a), Wolves (a), Brighton (h) and Villa (h) games are the ones you'd look to for potential points dropped. Problem is, all 4 of those teams could find themselves with nothing to play for and therefore not obliged to put up top performances to prevent City from winning. Villa were brutal on Saturday against Arsenal. Wolves have slipped a bit of late and West Ham have Europa league distractions too. Brighton seem to have picked up again after a mid-season dip.

At the same time, CL progression does wear you down too. They want that trophy so bad and losing the final last year will still hurt. A couple of draining ties against Real Madrid after the two with Atletico could see a drop in level in at least one of those fixtures.

That one small off day and slip is all we need to see.

It does look grim as they haven’t dropped points to the remaining teams

But here’s another stat:
Until yesterday, city won all 22 matches they took the lead. Yesterday was the first time they dropped points from a winning position.

Also, yesterday was the first time this season we went into the break trailing. With the above stat, the writing was on the wall. But we scored within 45s of restart.

So, it ain’t over till it’s over.

No point guessing where City could drop points cos nobody thought they would drop the points they dropped to the teams they dropped them to. In fact had it not been for the handball seen from around the world by Rodri vs Everton but not given, we would be a point ahead now.

In the end, nobody knows anything about the future so let’s get behind the team and bring this thing home. After all, we were supposed to finish 4th/ 5th by the pundits including the all-seeing and all-knowing Gary Neville. Uo Da Pool.
