I'm not advocating the sale of Daniel Sturridge but wouldn't be surprised if I saw him go in the summer. I'd like to hold onto him but just his general attitude since back from injury has led me to believe he isn't happy.

He looks really sour when being subbed, doesn't look happy half the time and I would say he looks to be one of the only players in the squad who isn't overly wrapped in Klopp.

Will be interesting to see if he pines for a move out of there. Has anyone else noticed this?

He has always been like that. Not just under Klopp.

20 Mar 2016 00:31:00
I dunno. Just reckong he needs more games to get in the flow. Things aren't working that greatly for him on the pitch but a lot. of is to do with match sharpness. So i think his facials are to. do with more than being subbed off.

20 Mar 2016 00:09:59
He will be happy once he starts scoring and playing well, think it's more frustration, he hasn't really had a bad spell when fit for us.

20 Mar 2016 00:12:54
Don't think I've ever saw anyone happy being subbed. Could you imagine the damage he would do if he was injury free for a full season? I know he's on big wages and its do frustrating him being injured all the time but I think there's a lot more to come from him. The talent he has is frightening.

20 Mar 2016 00:13:17
He looks least bothered or interested. Goes down to the ground easily and doesn't work hard enough for the team atm.
He was certainly pissed off on couple of occasions when he was subbed and earlier when Klopp ruled him out from the first team action after tweeting I am good to go by the player himself.
Absolutely no idea mate what's going around him.

20 Mar 2016 00:28:51
I think you're reading too much into it.
He's coming back from a long term injury and trying to get his form back.

20 Mar 2016 00:43:05
I would not like to see a player happy to come off the pitch or to sit on the bench. No doubt he has not been firing on all cylinders yet, but given the amount of time he has had off and the start stop nature of his injuries, that is not surprising.

What I do see is that he in getting involved in the plays, moving well, providing options and the team is doing well with him in it. It can be argued that Origi does that too, but he has yet to show at any time of his career the deadly finishing that Studge can give us.

I doubt he is looking for a move and I doubt Klopp will actively look to sell him.

God, people really over-analyse stuff like this. 'Sturridge didn't look happy when he came off, therefore he doesn't like Klopp'. Bloody hell. Putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5.

Perhaps he didn't look happy because he wasn't happy with his performance? All he did was lose the ball. I would have reacted just the same if I got called to come off - I'd be filthy with myself.

20 Mar 2016 03:40:21
Really? I saw sturridge chasing down defenders and trying to close them down on many occasion which is smth he didn't do much b4. The disappointment seem more on himself rather than klopp.

{Ed001's Note - he has always done that, but it goes unnoticed by the fans for some reason. It is one of the things I particularly like about him, his willingness to drop back in and cover defenders or midfielders caught up field.}

20 Mar 2016 04:47:01
He's just struggling a bit for form due to Long term layoff, and no striker likes to be subbed without scoring first. I'm confident he'll get on a run at some point.

Having said that, I do think Sturridge works best with two upfront or a 4-3-3 (where you tend to see FBs having to cover more than just Sturridge) .

20 Mar 2016 05:21:54
He's frustrated and struggling for form but I think he's forcing things which will only increase the frustration. I propose he focus on have a good game as in, playing well with the team and assisting and build some rhythm and confidence. Then the goals will come.

20 Mar 2016 06:34:50
Personally I don't ever want to see a player happy to be subbed - he has looked really cheesed off when being brought off: good! It shows he cares - it also shows that he is not happy with his current form - if he'd banged in a hatrick he wouldn't be quite so concerned - he wants to prove himself on the pitch. Top player with the right attitude and hopefully with the worst of his injuries behind him - madness to sell.

20 Mar 2016 06:51:27
I think it's easier to see a players movement live rather than on tv to be fair. He does work hard for the team and as some have mentioned he's just returning from a lengthy injury.

My only concern from Thursday was his decision making.

Seano

A manager could sub a player purely on tactical changes. Often Sturridge is subbed to bring in a midfielder to tighten up the middle lack of an extra man. What's wrong in it?

20 Mar 2016 08:15:30
Everything is noticeable when a striker isn't scoring goals.

20 Mar 2016 08:15:55
Or rather, everything is exaggerated when a striker isn't scoring goals.

20 Mar 2016 09:07:21
Did he not make a ball winning tackle at right back againdt man u then pop up for the attack 5 passes later?

20 Mar 2016 12:08:32
I dunno what's in it but i was in Ladbrokes hospitality box at Cheltenham last Tuesday and one or two sporting guys had been to an event and had spoken with Dannys brother, by all accounts he's been putting it about that Danny will never be the same player again,
Hope that's wrong but I certainly wasnt mixing with people i would consider to be liars on the day, just a genuine bit of rumour info for a change lol like i said hopefully its wrong but the info on what was said will certainly be genuine.

20 Mar 2016 12:10:23
I think we should be open for his sale and invest that money in a injury free striker. I personally like lacazette.

20 Mar 2016 12:57:22
Think Sturridge tackled martial more times than Clyne Thursday!
