We struggle against bus parkers because we have no one that can cross a ball, no Ariel threat and no one that can take a corner this really needs to change for next season or it will be more of the same. It all goes through the middle which is too tightly packed. Another frustrating game to watch but for two top class saves from Forster we'd have won that so it wasn't all as terrible as people are making out. Just not that good either. Can't always rely on some magic to win us those games we need another dimension.

Agree2 Disagree1

The simple facts are if we scored the penalty were all happy and jobs a goodun. How many times has Gerrard had the exact same pressure and scored time and time again? That's something I'll certainly be more appreciative of when I look back in the future. As against Watford, wba and stoke if we score the goal perfect but if not the manager has been outclassed and all his decisions were wrong etc etc. If we score and win the games perfect. We didn't score so it's a let down but that's the exact game everyone's been moaning we never play sometimes you don't score when you play defensive.

Agree, but I will, say this. Once Sturridge came on we were attacking the goal more. In no way am I criticizing Origi I believe he's a player who will only get better but at times he seems to be following a script. He hasn't the same killer instinct Studge has. I believe a game like this needed Studge to start. I hope we keep him especially if we pull off top four. We need his ability in Europe.

These games "Park the bus" or smaller teams have constantly exposed certain players. These games truly show a players quaility or lack of it because everything has to be a lot preciser. Relying on coutinho and Firminho won't always work.
Don't think cylne in particular enjoys these games at all.

Has origi actually improved since he arrived?

07 May 2017 16:16:17
Well said Big Al. Too many workman like players in midfield bar Coutinho. We need two full backs who can cross the ball, a creative midfielder, a winger and a goalscorer in the summer. If Klopp does not sort these positions out, then FSG should find a manager who actually can tell the difference between an average and a quality player.

07 May 2017 16:34:26
No he has not improved at all. Last season he showed signs but he had been worse this season. Time to move him on. Liverpool can't wait for him and can't keep on building. Time to win something and stop these heart attacking results.

Thing is, we have become kinda predictable in our approach, and the only teams who will allow our team to play the way Klopp wants them to are teams who think they can go head to head and outscore us. Klopp needs to get used to teams using the parking the bus and counter attack tactic, and find a way of still being effective and getting something out of a game still. Saying at the end of the game that it's difficult to play against ten defenders is useless, that's the whole point of parking the bus! I don't know a team that struggles against this as much as us, Klopp needs an effective plan B. I don't think it's down to managerial ineptitude, more stubbornness. He needs to learn from Brendan's mistakes, maybe we would have won the league if Brendan had been more tactically flexible?

Origi doesn't seem in tune with firmino and couts sturridge has a good footballing brain even if his legs have gone a bit and is able to interchange and make more space for others better.

07 May 2017 17:06:04
So Gerrard never missed a penalty?

07 May 2017 18:06:45
You should be critising origi though.

Hes up front for liverpool and what's he done.

You look around and similar players who are much younger than him putting it much better performancea.

Mbappe, rashford to name 2. he's got everyrhing they have so there's no excuse.

Hea needs to stop thinking he's made it and start performing as if the summer transfer window is close. oh wait.

07 May 2017 18:26:43
He's a young lad and will have ups and downs for the next few seasons.

I don't think the team is set up to play to his strengths.
How many times has he got the ball out wide with his back to goal whereas he should be in the middle being supplied by DECENT crosses.

Suarez could get the ball in them wide areas and turn and head for the goal maybe winning a pen on the way.

But he is a world class performer despite his many faults.

07 May 2017 19:18:37
Redwillis, if we had an Ariel threat we'd need Puck down the wing as well. They wouldn't do too well in the winter months though. They are only suited to summer evening games. ;-)

I can't believe some people still think Origi would make it up. He is an extremely lucky chap getting chances after chances at the expense of either Danny or a youngster from the academy. He is average at best!

07 May 2017 21:41:18
Those criticizing Origi should go watch the game again, this time with their anti-Origi blinkers off. What striker would have done much better being left on his own in the midst of 6/ 7 defenders with no support from the flanks nor from the middle? He had no wingers that could get behind the defence nor did our FB's have any quality in their crosses. Is the fact that Mane was injured and our FB's can't cross a ball to save their lives, Origi's fault? And what did Studge do when he came on? He still struggled like the whole team did so what would have changed? NOTHING.

Origi is very talented and has shown what he can do when on form (hes still scored 10 goals and a bunch of assists despite playing minimal minutes this season) so next season, he will be here and you all will get over it.

07 May 2017 23:13:07
N Red, The striker you're looking for is Studge.
