Fabregas is class ed 001.:. Not challenging you. Just saying that you're wrong ;)

{Ed001's Note - we will have to disagree on that, he is simply not and you are wrong. Most overrated player in the Prem and one of the laziest.}

He's got bags of ability but fails to impose it on games with any degree of regularity. He'd be a massive outlay for one good game in five.

A luxury player who Wenger was willing to indulge to get the best out of him. Barcelona weren't, so he was deemed surplus there, and now Chelsea have deemed him surplus too. If he comes here, he'll last two seasons in which we'll all pull out our hair in frustration at his inability to turn in consistent performances (cos we don't have enough of that from the players we have, right? ) before we too, will deem him surplus.

I know this is the Liverpool page but what do you think of pedro as a player.

{Ed001's Note - lots of pace, decent touch, but goes missing more often than he performs.}

08 May 2017 21:25:38
Being lazy doesn't make you a bad footballer. He's a wonderful footballer and in the right system he's a wonderful asset to any club. He'd be useless for us for example. Give him freedom with no defensive duties and he'd score and assist more than coutinho by a long way we'd suddenly find our way through these packed defences far more regularly and that's a fact.

{Ed025's Note - thats not a fact jezza thats a guess mate..

08 May 2017 21:46:39
Fabregas is a better player than Coutinho, but Barcelona let Fabregas go and supposedly are courting Coutinho?
Fact?

{Ed025's Note - supposedly followed by fact is just wrong mate..

08 May 2017 22:17:23
Fabregas's best years where alongside Viera at Arsenal. He never reached the same levels at Barcelona or Chelsea. And he is not better than Coutinho, today.

08 May 2017 22:49:38
Hasn't he won everything that there is to win in the game before he's 30? Yeah must be a terrible player.
He makes good players play better.

08 May 2017 22:38:02
That's why I put the? Ed. Touch of sarcasm on my behalf.
But ra is correct, Fabregas has never reached the heights he did at Arsenal after he left them.
He's not going to get any better now either, Coutinho still has room for improvement.

{Ed001's Note - he was never that good at Arsenal, just had the odd good game. He only performs when given time and space to do what he wants, like last night. The measure of a top class player is how they play when the pressure is on, when the opponent is on top of their game, rather than when the opposition has rolled over meekly to let you tickle his belly. Fabregas never even plays against tough opposition as Conte drops him for the tough games.}

Ive heard that Yan Molby was that good a passer of the ball that in some games he didn't leave the centre circle.
He was definitely not built for speed but I wouldn't call him lazy.

Class in his own way which improved an already successful team.

{Ed001's Note - Jan Molby had positional sense and it didn't matter how hard people tried to mark him out of a game, he made his own time and space.}

09 May 2017 01:01:33
Fab can make that pass though.

The one that's missing.

All the gamea with 70% possesion. Just needed that one bit of magic.

Th8nk he qould be terrific for us ans now like i did when he joined chelsea.

Exactly what we need. Against all the park the bus teams.

{Ed001's Note - but he is not, because we don't have a midfield that gets the ball with time and space in those games, it is our defence that gets it. Anyway, the likes of Can and Lucas have shown themselves to be able to pick a pass, that is not the issue. The passer is only as good as the movement in front of him. Our players are simply not providing the movement to pick out and create space right now.}

There is no doubt Fabregas is a supremely talented footballer. Its a shame that he lacks the workrate and application to back that up. Could have been a worthy replacement for Xavi at Barca, but his failings saw his dream move to Barcelona fall flat.

09 May 2017 02:31:21
Zidane won everything in the game before he was 30 and made good players better. But I wouldn't want LFC to sign him as a player now not would I want Fabregas.

08 May 2017 22:21:54
4 years ago they wanted fabregas too. they could easily let coutinho go the same way. Who they want and who they let go is not a statement of who's better. Ed was right saying it was a guess not a fact but I'm certain it would be the case.

09 May 2017 08:57:58
Although I think he's a decent player, whose experience of winning things would help, We should prioritise other areas. Imo Ed001 is spot on when he says movement ahead of the passer is the key.

09 May 2017 09:27:32
For good measure, Cesc did not win the CL while at Barca. Also if he was that class, why coudn't he unseat Knte or Matic from Chelsea's CM? Maybe cos Conte knows he's lazy, overrated and can't do what Kante and Matic can. He is a luxury player on stupid wages who will NOT add to what we have cos in our system, NO passengers are wanted, and Cesc for all his talent, is a HUGE passenger. I rather give Grujic a chance than waste 170k per week to a lazy, overrated 30 year old passenger.

09 May 2017 09:35:54
Fabregas is a terrific passer of the ball. He could play the deep lying role with perfection. He has excellent vision to pick those inch perfect long and short pass something our midfielders cannot. His age is an issue but then Pirlo played till he was 32.

09 May 2017 15:44:54
Harry, you cannot play the DLP role if you can't defend. We saw that with SG playing there and offering NO protection for the defence. Fabregas can't defend and can't provide good cover hence why he is ion the bench at Chelsea most of the time. He flourished under Mou cos there was Mikel and Matic especially, doing the defensive work for him. That will not happen here so why bother?
