Sorry, but anyone thinking there is a witch hunt when it comes to Clyne need to start seeing the wood for the trees. He is getting paid a very substantial wage and simply does not deliver what is required from him.

Go and youtube the video he had made for his latest birthday celebration. The guy is so in love with himself and shows it on the pitch too.

Sentiment is one thing but even a blind man will be able to come up to any fan and tell them Clyne is not good enough
and will never be.

It is a fact that he is not willing to show the improvement required to wear the Liverpool shirt. Game in and out you see this guy zipping up and down the pitch with absolutely no positive outcome whatsoever.

I have seen improvement in Firmino, Lallana, Mignolet, Can, Origi, Lovren etc and we have seen the likes of TAA who will be able to leave Clyne in his dust.

Milner had in some way shown that he was willing to make the LB position work for him even if he was not up for playing there. Kept his mouth shut and got on with it.

If Clyne is still our no 1 RB for next season then we will not move forward. We need players who have desire not 'I am happy to collect my wage knowing I am no 1 for my position'

In with somebody at RB who can show that they are adept and have desire to improve. Have the fire in there belly like Emre Can has shown worthy of wearing the shirt.

Rant over.

Regardless of your opinion, the player has been consistently available for selection and has performed at his manager's request, albeit not to everyones taste, but that's more than I can say for many of the other apparent stars, who have endured many months of injury at the club's detriment, and are still yet to perform to their best.

Any venomous criticism of them?

Thought not.

The only criticism I have for Clyne is that he rarely crosses the ball.
I literally can't remember him putting a cross in, he always looks to cut in in the final third. I wonder if it is instructions from the manager, but this happens even when Origi is on.

DaveyBootle, the only competition Clyne had this season was TAA who is still learning the ropes. When TAA did feature he showed why he has more desire than Clyne.

The only reason why I can think that Klopp did not decide to throw in TAA straight away was not to give the youngster a comfort zone. If you want to wear the red shirt then you need to work your arse off, earn it and then you will reap the rewards if you are youngster fighting to earn a spot. Also to preserve TAA, make him more hungry. Nothing is for free. We all know that our defence leaks goals too so the last thing any youngster wants is to be drowned in negativity towards our defence.

Clyne knew that nobody was going to overthrow him at RB. He then gets onto the pitch and what he gives is good enough for him.

Emre can was being belittled by just about every fan but showed them the middle finger and ended up being one the most improved, if not the most improved players for Liverpool this season. Clyne just trots along.

Clyne is a very average defender and a very poor wing back. What he is though is incredibly dedicated. Players lacking desire don't make 100 appearances in 2 seasons. His commitment to being as strong, fast and fit as possible is a credit to him.

He needs to be replaced by a better player, but I'd love our more gifted players to share his commitment to staying fit! Not sure we can call him self indulgent either. Not without knowing him personally.

TAA didn't play because he's not as good as Clyne, at least not yet. There no need to dress it up any other way.

If we are seeking a new RB then that clearly states Clyne is surplus. The club wanted rid of Clyne last summer. Ed002 made that clear. See the wood for the trees.

I agree with that Max, just disagree with calling out his character rather than his ability.

Max. I love your passion and I agree that, were I in Klopp's position, I would be looking to move Clyne on and bring in a player with better distribution and crossing. But.
. he is our player. I tend to agree with MK on this. He's consistently turned out. How do you know "he's not willing to to show the improvement? " He may be trying but unable?

There a huge gap for the u23 lads to handle, much of it is to build up the core physical strength while not losing pace or ability

If they keep up the performance levels they will get more game time the stronger they get.

Thats why I feel its wrong the wat Origi is slagged off on here.

Hes 22 and a lump of a lad already, who we bought for a great price compared to what's being quoted these days for players.

Its not his fault Danny Inges done his knee again or Daniel Sturridge is medical mystery who can injure himself while dancing .
