If these two signings (salah and VVD) do come off it's the first time for a long time that we have gone up against the likes of Chelsea and City and actually came out on top when signing a player. Why is that? Is it because Ayre isn't handling negotiations? Is it the Klopp factor? Is it that we can just afford more now with the TV money? Just curious as I was sure VVD would end up elsewhere! (and he still might)

Klopp, CL and we also look like a side that's stable, playing good football and has the ability to get even better.
If we get even just 3 top players in at LW, CB and LB (looking likely for at least 2 of those) and hopefully Sturridge stays fit, we will be very tough to beat next year.
Feels like we have the momentum at the moment. Hopefully we have a great season next up and we keep moving forward.

Beating them to VVD certainly shows intent, that we can compete with the big boys, that we are looking to go one step forward forward and not sell our best players and move one step back.

Because we're massively over paying and the player wants to come.
Van dijk is a great improvement on lovren. 60 million and 200k wages if true is disgraceful for a central defender. However football has gone in a direction that Is madness.

Think he knows if he plays his cards right, its madrid next. they'll need a new cb in about 4 years.

February we were recovering from injuries, and we went back on track in March. Of course, if I had more players of good quality then maybe things could have been different. We had the weakest team in the top 6, but we finished fourth. Look at how much Mourinho spent and we still finished above them. And if Phil had not gotten injured and Sadio had not gone to Africa, we could have finished above Guardiola also.
FSG: Okay Jurgen. Tell me what you need. Tell me what you need to win the League and make it at least to the semis in the UCL?
Klopp: I need better defenders, I want to strengthen the midfield and I need a striker to bang in the goals, Daniel is not dependable to be ready to play every game. I hear VVD wants to join us. And Keita is the perfect player for us.
