The difference between a proper goal scorer and those who weigh in with 10-15 is that they will score big goals when they are needed most, not when the team are 2 or 3 nil up. Yes we need to shore up at centre half but sort that along with a proper goal scorer (who u can rely on) and u have a real chance. Utd teams in the past spread the goals but always had a prolific striker .

Redroon, for the upteenth time on this forum, scoring goals is not and has never been our problem since Klopp arrived. In fact, we are top 3 in goals scored in the PL since Klopp arrived, all without having a so called "goalscorer" to rely on. So what is the obsession with having a "true goalscorer"? We saw Utd rely on Ibra and he could not bail them out of their poor PL season. You say we need a goalscorer who can score in big games. Couts, Firmino, Mane, Studge, Wiji Can, and Hendo, scored big goals for us in big games last season. Is that not enough? Give it a rest man. Klopp will not sign a goalscorer this season so you better get over that fact. In fact, he wants to increase the no. of goals in the team by adding Salah, who knows exactly where the net is. Personally, I like the fact that goals are all over the team as it makes us difficult to stop rather than the strategy of"stop their goalscorer and we stop the whole team"

Its simply ridiculous to sign a striker this year before strengthening the entire back four posistions.

Them defensive and goalkeeping lapses have a deflating knock on effect throughout the team.

Even though there maybe less protection in front of them due to the high press style. It doesn't explain the lapses at set pieces.

We need tofind the rock that the defence is built around.

Young or old, but a no nonsense player ready to go straight into the first team.

Brussels Red, it is not obviously not enough. As there have been many occasions since Klopp arrived that we have come up short on the goal scoring stakes. Yes we have scored plenty and it's good to spread them round but I am talking about improving our first 11 on top of the necessary improvements at the back. We have to improve, not stand still. If u think Firmino, Studge (when fit), Origi and Ings if fit are enough for a team to be challengers in the league and CL then your deluded. It's about time we had wingers and midfields weoghinng in with goals consistently but a top striker is the needed or the extra 10-12 points that could make the difference. Tell me is there something wrong with strengthening at both ends of the pitch?
