Anybody else think Kelechi Iheanacho would be worth a punt? Definitely an upgrade on Origi in my book.

Personally no, Origi has plenty of time and has my support, he showed siggns of utter class from time to time last season, he's young and can improve.

You can't keep buying strikers mate! We play one up top and have 4 strikers in the book! You ll need to sell a few to recruit! There are plenty better than Origi! Can't buy them all.

I would off load Origi personally, and try and upgrade. I was at the Palace match at home and he just ran around like a headless chicken. 1st touch was awful aswell.

06 Jul 2017 21:53:13
I know what your saying but you have to remember he's only 22, he has plenty of time to improve.

True Teabag, but Iheanacho Is only 20 and knows where the goal is. Lack of goals from the front let us down last year I believe.

06 Jul 2017 22:38:16
Hopefully Origi improves this year, could be make or break for him with Liverpool. He will get plenty of chances with the extra fixtures and the inevitable injuries to Sturridge.

Al 1972, I agree his touch was not up to professioal standards last season. Shockingly poor at times.

I like Iheanacho but no way would I let origi go anywhere. He is stronger and direct and tall, can head the ball. And still very young. Also I'm pretty sure he scored quite a few goals given the amount of games and minutes he actually got. Wasn't there a small period of games where he scores for fun. Improve him and do not get rid for us to look back in a year or 2 wondering why we let the top scorer in France go just because people have a need to buy and chop and change players like it's fifa.

06 Jul 2017 22:58:29
True Al, I can't argue with that mate.

06 Jul 2017 23:27:11
Lack of goals al, really?!

06 Jul 2017 23:30:07
Lack of goals from the front wasn't our problem. Leaking like a damaged sieve at the back was the main issue, allied with our inability to create decent chances against bus parking sides.

Our goals for tally looked extremely healthy last season but in the games we lost to the so called weaker sides we averaged above 20 shots a game whilst the likes of Burnley and Swansea etc scored with their only shots on target. So yes we were leaking them at the back but also we were not finishing them.

07 Jul 2017 06:41:09
Our top scorer was Coutinho with 14, we need a player that will bang in 20 or more. I don't think Origi will ever be able to do that.

AL, and who played well in the Palace game for LFC? Can you name one more bar maybe Couts? How convenient. Origi scored 11 goals last season where he did not get a consistent run in the team. Did you see the way he biullied the big, bad WBA CB's at the Hawthornes last season? I have never seen a striker do that to them in recent years.

He is young and still learning the game and the position and even tho he is talented, he has to do more and be more consistent in his performances. That takes time. If you give up on him now, then you don't deserve the player you want him to be.

Iheanacho can't even get a minute's worth of playing time at City? Listen, I'm a Nigerian and sorry to disappoint you but there is no way he makes the Belgian national team, period. Origi is miles better than Iheanacho as he possesses all the tools required for a CF, several of which Iheanacho does not possess. Be patient with Origi and he will surprise you.

If Origi played for someone else I'm certain our fans would say 'we should look at that Origi lad'.

He is our 4th choice striker who has been forced to play a more prominent role due to the injuries to Sturridge and Ings, he's played in fits and spurts, sometimes out of position to accommodate Firmino up front but still manged to score 11 goals.

For me he is exactly what you are looking for from your 4th choice striker, he's young, talented, has all the physical attributes you would want from a striker, he's still learning, gets the odd goal when he plays and hopefully in another couple of years under Klopp and Buvac's tutelage will be a very good striker.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, if Origi played week in week out at a middle of the table team like say Southampton/ Swansea/ Bournemouth who would set up to play to his strengths he would get 20 odd goals a season.
