Morning eds

Ed002, with Maccas news last night is it fair to say there is obviously ongoing dialogue/ talks between us and Southampton meaning we have indeed gone back on our word?

{Ed002's Note - Don't expect the owners to make any further statement at this time.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Not a difficult one to work out this.

Player puts in a transfer request, Liverpool put in offer due to change of circumstances, simple.

Southampton will have no option if Liverpool offer 70 million. Why keep a player at the club if he wants to go and 70 million is on the table.

Southampton release statement that is written with their supporters in mind.

{Ed002's Note - Why do you think Southampton would have no option? And remember Southampton already have a complaint lodged with the Premier League. And the club would be trainling more slime around after them following their humiliating apology and withdrawal of interest after making an illegal approach and tapping up the player.}

Worth bearing in mind how quickly a player depreciates if he isn't playing.
Should VVD decide to strike and refuse to play, Soton will have a big decision on their hands.
Do they accept the £70 million deal or do they risk him not playing any football, draining resources and perhaps end up accepting half of that in the winter of next summer?
I'm not advocating this and I'd rather we stepped away but I guess it depend on how he feels more than anything else.

I for one really hope that we don't go for VVD after the apology given earlier and not because it'll get us into trouble with the FA or anything. I want us to walk away solely because we should honour our word, as simple as that.
We made an illegal approach and should just own up to it and move on.

Hi ed

Wasnt expecting the owners to make any additional statement mate? Not sure what you mean there could you explain please.

Was just getting at the fact we must be in contact if Macca has said he expects the player to sign. Unless i've got it wrong?

{Ed002's Note - The club issued a humiliating apology to Southampton to tray and avoid charges of making an illegal approach for yet another player - and said they had withdrawn all interest in him. It is very, very simple.}

15 Jul 2017 14:09:56
the club made an apology, the FA investigated the matter end of. if VVD is available we should buy him who cares about the apology. he will make us better. the vast majority of fans want the best players in order to compete. i couldn't care less what other clubs or fans think about us. Do. u think United fans or Chelsea cared they ain't liked when they were hoovering us trophies.

{Ed002's Note - Rubbish. It is nothing whatsoever to do with the FA and there has been no investigation.}

Guys, don't forget, if you have been following this site for at least 5 years you should know, ED002 is a European power house in the football industry (benny baller quote)

What Ed002 is stating above, I personally take is how all owners of football clubs around the world see us, explicitly.

It is not 1970 anymore, we are not European royalty, we are are the gutter scum of football business, like it or not.

I have jumped trains and hitch hiked lifts all over Europe trying to get to away games in the 70's and 80's and missed mortgage payments because of it (and minus one wife)

Times of changed, you should too.

That is what's worrying me. How can we sign a player we stated we had no interest in anymore etc. It doesn't ring right to me it really doesn't. How are we going to look if we sign him? People are thinking of the player and what he can offer us but what about how the club will look? That to me is more important, we messed about, got embarrassed and we're still interested in him? You can't make this stuff up.

15 Jul 2017 15:14:45
I'd rather not have VVD and avoid any further punishment i think.

VVD would be a great option but there are plenty of other good CBs in the world. Guess if our competition (i. e arsenal, chelsea and city) are going in for him that may change my stance a little bit but still sway towards being sensible.

15 Jul 2017 18:26:34
Come on, be honest lads, we all want vvd, why wouldn't we, great defender and will finally add some steel to our defence. It is getting very boring listening to the same questions over and over regarding tapping up etc. We all know what's gone on and it is very wrong and unethical but bottom line is I want to sign vvd and I believe it will happen one way or another, as will Keita. Liverpool need to smarten up big time and learn from this but can we please move on now. ynwa.

15 Jul 2017 20:04:58
We all want vvd? I'd rather avoid signing him to avoid the public humiliation personally, it's alright saying 'move on' I guess you didn't see the club when it was run properly then? you choose to ACCEPT this ridiculous behaviour and brush it aside like it's nothing. Maybe I'm alone in thinking this way I don't know but it dearly annoys me how people look past all we've done and don't care how we as a club look. It's plain and simple wrong what we've done. I could go on forever about the good old days and how the club SHOULD be run but it seems many of today's fans don't give a damn.

Jordz, you sir are sensible. If our rivals are going in for him that's fine though, they haven't tapped him up so they won't look stupid by signing him.

15 Jul 2017 21:07:28
Calm down tea bag, you quite clearly haven't read my post properly have you? I quite clearly stated that it's not the way to do things and they need to learn from it but guess you missed that when you stepped on your soapbox again. we are all entitled to an opinion. I have followed Liverpool for over 30 years mate and know it very well. I don't agree with the tapping up at all, poor way of doing things but I'm sorry, if we have the chance to sign vvd still then I want us to sign him. My opinion mate and I'm entitled to it, so stop being so sanctimonious all the time because quite frankly it's boring.

15 Jul 2017 22:52:17
I'm talking about what is right and what's wrong. Us signing him will be a wrong move, I'm not going to repeat myself over and over again, it's pretty evident on how we will look should this go ahead. Even if he was a world class player, which he is not, he's really good but world class, far from it, id still not want this to go through. Everybody's raving about the lad and forget about the important things, THE CLUB!

You don't see Chelsea, Utd, City, Arsenal, Spurs. or come to think of it any other club in the Premier League getting embarrassed like we have, so what's our excuse? and yet you want to go sign a player who if we did will make us look pathetic.

Yes you are entitled to your opinion as is everybody of course but I just don't agree with it that's all.

15 Jul 2017 23:58:48
Again, not reading properly tea bag. where did I mention anything about world class? You are arguing with yourself! You carry on mate!

16 Jul 2017 00:10:53
Didn't say you said anything about world class did I? who's not reading properly? I'm just making it as a statement, loads of you are rambling on about him as if he is, and he's not, your acting like he's the bloody messiah.

16 Jul 2017 10:04:57
Snoreville teabag! Lol. either way, vvd would be a bloody good edition to our squad, end of mate. Have a good day. you clearly missed my point in the first place. but never mind. Ynwa.
