Watching that game today just emphasised how much we need a new centre half. Again simple balls over the top and klavan and lovren were caught asleep.

VVD is a must and hopefully himself and Matip can build a partnership.

Very impressed with TAA very composed on the ball and has great pace and positional sense it looks like the Jersey could be his to lose.

I would also like to take the chance to thank the eds for all the work they do on this site, there is nothing else like it. Top job lads.

{Ed002's Note - Thanks Jimmy.}

Agree6 Disagree1

I agree about TAA. Even though he's young, he's simply better than Clyne both attacking and marginally in defence too. He should be starting when fit.

Let's be honest and not lie.

TAA was in no man's land for Leicester opener. Milner no matter how many people are his fans is finished! I can't imagine what he would do at RB. He offers simply a big Zero upfront.
I thought Wijnaldum struggled in the holding role. Clearly not his territory. Mahrez cut him to shoes more than thrice.
Coutinho juts exceptional. The way his pics players with his passing is on another level.
Lallana as usual hard core running, nothing else.

We looked like a flat tyre in the second half thanks we scored twice in the first half.
Henderson was ok. Covered the back line well. But who in the absence of Coutinho is going to create goal scoring chances for the front three?
Did we create one chance in the second half!

22 Jul 2017 19:48:14
Jamey Vardy got behind our backline some 10 times today! And if you still feel we don't need a CB then God help all of us!

What I got out off the game today is that karius makes me nervous and is not my number 1,TAA looks a top prospect and I'd play him before clyne but you have to expect lots off mistakes so would the fans be patient enough I don't know, I'd play three at the back if we buy VVD and ward in goal, coutinho is key so we have to keep him but I do think it's a matter off when not if he goes.

nice one Naby Keita Ding Dong, 4 pre season games in and its nice to see loads of negativity. am sure we are more than just a one man team Coutinho was great last season but it was mane that we missed most because of his pace. And the back four will struggle when you are making that many changes.

22 Jul 2017 21:17:19
Harry, it was Origi at fault for the Leicester goal, he didn't track Fuchs, watch it again and you'll see what I mean. As for Wij, I actually thought he played well, but he was very isolated with Lallana and Coûts always diving in and getting beaten by Mahrez. Agree I prefer him further forward though. 2nd half was just seeing it out, also with the amount of changes made, its very difficult to keep good attacking rhythm. Milner had no chance for the goal, and defended well, had a niggling injury but still got forward. I do enjoy your insight but you judge some players very unfairly.

22 Jul 2017 21:39:22
Harry the goal was not TAA's fault. It's great to see you so positive. Both teams where struggling with the heat in the second half and resorted to going long.

22 Jul 2017 22:26:46
Well said Shrewsbury red. If you actually watch goal again and look at bigger picture not just the ball. You will clearly see origi switches off and doesn't track runner thus meaning taa is left 2 on 1 and you see him shouting at origi! Special mention to our captain he looks very sharp and has obviously worked really hard over last few months, great attitude.

22 Jul 2017 22:33:31
They were all very professional today Harry lad, i thought Klavan did ok but let's not be too harsh he's going to be a good squad man the rest just did a nice pro job
I'll take that and Migs is by far our number 1 and has improved immensely in my book.
So far so good.

TAA had to close the wide player who had been left free by the midfield, this was what created the space to get the cross in. If you double up out wide the cross doesn't happen. The kid reads the game better than some of his established team members.

22 Jul 2017 23:59:11
Stop reading so much into a pre season game that is played between very hard fitness training sessions.

22 Jul 2017 23:24:17
You are not even close Grino
Mane like any other world class winger need somebody to pick him when he moves or runs which is what Coutinho does it week in week out!
We did not miss Mane, we missed a winger who could score goals for all the chances that Firmino kept missing.

Liverpool in the absence of Mane will create plenty of chances. But Liverpool in the absence of Coutinho creates very very few chances to score!

Coutinho make things happen for all the Mane's, Salah's and Firmino's! Not the other way around!

22 Jul 2017 23:59:13
Thanks Shrewsbury

Thought Salah did not help TAA much in the first half tacking back! I believe we should stop opposition putting crosses than defending in the air
Wijnaldum Yes he is not a holding player!

Seems to me that Harry is an easy target for some people. He speaks his mind and is passionate about LFC. Might disagree with him a bit but he's a Red, good enough for me.

23 Jul 2017 00:38:53
Actually I agree with Harry. We saw what Salah can do when clever balls are delivered his way, same with Mane. Both can use their pace to break in between defenses as long as there is someone providing the perfect pass which is what Coutinho does. Essential we keep Couts and sign Keita to build a world class midfield.

I think klavan Did better than matip today.
