So we as Liverpool fans seem to be quite a divided bunch at the moment.

Some of our fans think we are perfectly justified to pursue footballers for our own gain regardless of the destruction left in our wake. We deserve the best available, we have the money this season, we have the prestigious manager and the chance of champions league qualification. This could indeed be our last chance to make a breakthrough back into Europe’s elite and if we fail this time, who knows when our next run in the champions league will be?

So I partly agree, take whatever we can to get us where we need to be. It shows ambition, it shows strength, but somewhere in this flurry of ‘snatch and grab tactics’ we are starting to tarnish our label of "a family club" and the wonderful history laid down by previous owners, managers and legends that took a long time to establish.

Ed002 has highlighted on several occasions that certain (as he quite correctly put it) "Cretinous fans" are supporting the actions of a pretty poorly steered ship these days. Whether it be from certain individuals at the club or as a collective decision, tapping up players, ruining their relationship with their current club and leaving families struggling in debt doesn’t seem like 'the Liverpool way' to me. I was quite horrified to read about the alleged conversation between Inglethorpe, Marshall and the boys brother and all the promises they made that were snatched away when they realized they weren’t actually allowed to do any of what they were suggesting.

Klopp is probably my favourite manager, I wasn’t around during the Shankly times but I’m pretty sure Klopp would still be a close second for me. However even he has been guilty of some of these horrendous dealings of late. I for one do not support these actions and I don’t believe Klopp is untouchable as a manager quite yet, I’m not going to start waving 'Klopp out' banners any time soon but this kind of stuff has to stop immediately.

VVD is refusing to train with his club, and reports today have come out saying that Keita is causing trouble in training too. Although we can’t be held completely accountable for the actions of individual footballers, our club didn’t exactly help matters with the way we approached these two players. This is all speculation from newspapers so far so there isn’t a lot of validity to these rumors but it’s not the type of thing you want associated with your club ever.

This is just my opinion on the matter but I’m sure you will all remember a certain Uruguayan player that bit 2 people and racially abused another whilst still a player at our club, seemingly to engineer a move to Barcelona. Congratulations to him, he got what he wanted and it seems a little suspicious that he has behaved himself now he is there. It’s probably one of the most embarrassing times I can remember as a supporter of LFC and it wasn’t nice being on the receiving end of that type of behaviour.

It’s not just as easy as walking away from these two players now as both seem to have become unsettled, which is exactly what LFC were trying to accomplish presumably, and now the only option in my opinion is to just get on with the deals, pay what is being asked for if the clubs can't repair the damage caused and put it behind us as a club. It’s a dirty move but it’s obviously worked to a degree and we will just have to live with the guilt of what they chose to do as time goes on (if there was any guilt felt over this in the first place) .

We had a good relationship with Southampton, we bought Clyne, Lallana, Mane, Lovren and Lambert from them in the last few years, 4 of which are still first team players. Why would you ruin all that work to sign 1 more pretty overpriced CB, he will improve our starting XI sure, but let’s be real for a second, he isn’t worth the figures being thrown about (which has gone up by another £10mil according to the ‘ever reliable’ media reports) . Mendy (another of our targets) went to City today for a lot less than is being suggested for VVD, they are both pretty similar in ability and potential for their respective positions. The only reason one costs more than the other is because Southampton never wanted to sell him in the first place.

You are better than this LFC, get it together, start playing by the rules again and move onto what could be a brilliant season for us.

If you are putting klopp second to shanks you really need to read up on club history, he would struggle to to get in my top ten, not a dig a klopp I like him but I was around when shankley was here.
