Reading Barcelona are in London to negotiate a deal for Coutinho. NO 1 They should be in Liverpool to do that. NO 2 Liverpool have told them he is not for sale. NO 3 If true it is blatant tapping up of " OUR " player . Time to report Barcelona .

{Ed002's Note - (1) They would need to be in London to negotiate. (2) Liverpool has previously provided a price for Coutinho. (3) Why does barcelona being in London make it "tapping up"?

The fact we have provided a price for Coutinho makes my heart sink as opposed to what RBL are doing with Keita. I know he has the right to be sold if that's what he wants, but it would be a bitter pill to swallow.

If Keita isn't sold, and coutinho is.
Then our club is in the wrong hands.

Agreed Fowler. Sell Coutinho and fail to sign Keita, and we are in big trouble before the season even starts. Now even Can wants out and this top4 finish looks so hollow and useless considering our top players still want to leave.

Losing Couts was always highly likely if he kept improving at the rate he has been. But as yet we haven't. But even signing Kieta wouldn't make up for it if we did as he is hardly a similar type. No posters on here (Ed's not included) were talking about Kieta even 4-5 months ago, now suddenly he's this incredible player who without our world will end.
Personally I think Phil will stay (whether he wants to or not) and it'll probably be like Suarez, he'll play like a man possessed which will be great for us, then go. Kieta won't be here this season.

Indian, couts hasn't said he wants to leave? And Can was a bit part player, likely to be a bit part player next season as well - hence why he wants to leave. Bit of an overreaction 'our top players want to leave'

25 Jul 2017 14:14:22
I don't get the panic going around. We have neither sold Coutinho or bought Keita. If we do sell Coutinho I can only imagine it will be once we have agreed a deal for Keita. The ball is in our court with Coutinho, he's on a long term contract with no release clause.

This window could very easily turn into a disaster! Missing out on all our top targets and Couts leaving!

25 Jul 2017 15:20:42
Perhaps they're related Mightyredmen.

Irrespective of what happens with Keita we just shouldn't be allowing our best player to leave - what is the pojnt of striving hard to get into the CL only to get rid of your best players? And what message does that send out to the other players in the squad? Do you think the likes of Mane and Firmino will be thinking 'yeah Liverpool are a team who really want to go places and win things? ' - pretty doubtful eh.

The only circumstance in which we should sell Coutinho is if he makes it expressly clear he no longer wants to be a part of the club.

25 Jul 2017 15:57:38
I don't think we have an intention to sell coutinho, it was a while back that we met to set a price, not this transfer window. People speculating is just as bad as the media these days. So if we don't sell coutinho, are we therefore in the right hands? Can wants to leave because of first team assurances and trophies, he's not leaving to play for a certain team or because he doesn't believe we can achieve! Toll down the dramatics.

{Ed002's Note - It was at the end of April/beginning of May.}
