There was a post yesterday asking who would be a replacement for Klopp should he ever leave.

I know he has been out of football management for ages but the man I would turn to is Roy Evans who knows the club inside and out. This is like venturing into the twilight zone but if it had to come down to it I would consider asking him if he would ever decide to come back into football management.

He was also pushed out of the club and we made a mistake by doing that all those years ago as if given some more time and backing, I reckon Evans could have taken us to the top again.

Are you serious?

What is it about fans always wanting to move backwards?

Re-sign Suarez! Get Alonso out of retirement! Torres could still do a job! Is Bjorn Kvarme still available?

Jeez, just move on. Roy was a great servant for the club but he is not a football manager any more.

Played some great football but wasn't hard enough on the players. I'd have given Kenny another year.

I thought we should have took Ancelotti in the first place but was happy when we did get Klopp as he did have a great reputation in football after his success with Dortmund. If the club were to sack him I would go after the best available manager we could find at that present moment not someone who hasn't managed a team in years no matter how much of a legend he is. Wouldn't mind seeing Marcelo Bielsa as he is someone the eds have spoke fond of for years and I rate they're opinions.

Ancelotti was blunt with the owners, he said that the spine of the team was weak and that if they wanted him, they would have to back him to get in new defenders, midfielders and centre forwards, he said that he could not just work with what was there as it wasn't good enough to compete.

No way Ancelotti would have agreed to join unless a huge transfer chest was given to him to sign some real quality.
If Klopp promised the owners the premier league title with the squad he inherited from Brendan, then he is a bigger fool than I thought. Compare our squad to the other top teams and there is serious dearth in quality, numbers and experience. WE will be found out, mark my words unless some decent quality players arrive and we manage to hold onto Coutinho.

Are there any more nostalgic-driven fans than liverpool fans? Bloody hell we tried this with Kenny, we need to move FORWARD not backwards.

Spot on, Frankly. Ancelotti like world class players in his squads and we were not anywhere near that level so I never bought into him coming here. We needed a builder and Klopp is a builder so it was the right fit, IMO.

Roy Evans, Now I've heard it all.

We tried it with Kenny, meaning what? Last time I checked Dalglish was the last manager to win a trophy at Liverpool and he only had 18 months.

Go back even further and he is still the last manager to win the league title at Liverpool as well!

I'm not saying I agree with Recruiting Roy Evans, but why are people still slagging off Dalglish. Not only the greatest player in our history, but also the third best manager in our history and the greatest human being in world football.

Just to answer the OP, in my opinion the man to take over from Klopp will be Steven Gerrard. Klopp will probably leave in 2 years time, and Gerrard is so obviously being groomed for the role long term. If Klopp leaves earlier than that expect a stop gap, maybe even Pepjin Lijnders as care taker.

I think klinnsmann would of been a good choice.
