I'm just curious, would it be a good idea to have a FAQ section on the pages here so that it'd save time for the guys/ girls moderating on the site with repeated posts/ questions?
Apologies if this has been asked before ha!
Obviously real-time posts can't probably happen on here as there'd be all kinds of vile comments sneaking through no doubt, but there could be a "report" post option added possibly?
Again, apologies if this has been asked previously.
{Ed001's Note - it has been suggested a hundred times and tried, both those things, neither worked out well. That is why we went to editors in the first place, because of the vile stuff that would get sent in. The FAQ no one reads, just like the lazy gets won't read the posts before asking their question that had just been answered at the top of the page.}

I have just done that sin of all sins myself - asked a FAQ myself unintentionally.
It's not that I have any issues with the current lay out or "service" lol.
You guys do a damn fine job here in what is probably your spare time.
I used to moderate a couple of reasonably popular sites on Google plus a few years ago when it looked like it was taking off, bloody hard work with little thanks.
The amount of idiots on there was unbelievable, never mind the repeated questions lol - again sorry!
"Askholes" I think was the term that was used to call them :)
{Ed001's Note - don't worry mate, these are repeat questions but not of the 'that has just been asked 2 seconds ago' variety. It is just every few weeks or months someone will suggest it. I wish the FAQ would work and that people could be trusted to behave, it would make it easier for everyone. Sadly people are lazy, entitled gets, for the most part, so it is just a waste of time even trying! You only have to look at twitter or the live chat on here to see that people just can't act like grown ups when they are hidden behind a keyboard.

Hey Ed001,
Have you ever thought about having a system where the post that has been most recently been responded to stays at the top. That way people will see the most popular questions first and won't need to ask as often.
It will also mean that the most popular discussions will keep going whilst the duds will just fizzle out.

{Ed001's Note - we thought about that, but then it just ends up being like every other forum and the same argument just rages on getting more and more fractious. Ed033 is working on a notification system, so you can see when someone has responded to a thread you have posted on or started.}

Some day you will have to share your weirdest/ funniest unpublished posts (without the exact description of the vile content I'm sure) as we could all do with a laugh I'm sure at times.
I had some hilarious/ unbelievable comments on the sites I worked on, literally wanted to strangle myself with a furry duster and drag my unmentionables over a mile of barbed wire when reading some of the posts.
{Ed001's Note - to be honest, with my memory I have completely forgotten most of them. It is odd, I can recognise footballers by the slightest things, the way they walk, how they strike the ball etc, but I can't remember anything unrelated to the sport. I can watch two films back to back with the same actors in and, unless they are playing the same part with the same hairstyle etc, I will not remember they were in the previous one while watching the second.}
