Does Southampton's approach to sign Wesley Hoedt have any bearing on the Van Dijk situation?

I know this is the Liverpool page, hence the question. It relates to Van Dijk and Liverpool's attempts to sign him.

It's not clear why you keep directing me to the Southampton page.
Whilst your disdain for Liverpool's transfer dealings is obvious I can't see how it is relevant to this.
Macca, who appears to have some insight within the club still feels as though we will get Van Dijk. The question relating to Hoedt is related to that. No worries if you don't know and thanks for taking your time to respond.

You're talking about Southampton being interested in a player and how that would impact another Southampton player.
I have no idea how you cannot see that that is a question for the Southampton page.
Plus if you took 2 minutes to venture to the Southampton page you would see this question discussed about 3 posts from the top.
No wonder the Eds get annoyed.
