Ed01 is it very bad business for us to allow Cans contract run down next summer and receive nothing. Surely if he won't sign a new contract for whatever reason it would make more sense to cash in on him now and get some fee rather than nothing next summer?
{Ed001's Note - depends on if the fee we would get would be as much as he would be worth to us playing in the side until the summer. If you are only getting a small amount, once you have paid all the agents' fees etc from the deal, it might just not be worth the club's time to sell.}

Ed would we be still intitled to get money even if his contact runs down and he signs with another club? Like what happened with ings or is that only if he joins another club under F. A.
{Ed001's Note - you don't get the same fee when someone goes abroad, the development fee, that you do if they go to another English club. Also, I don't believe we are eligible for a development fee anyway, as he never spent time at youth level for us, even if he was to join another English club. I would need to check to be sure, and to make sure if there have been any changes to those particular rules for the new season, but I am sure the fee is just for those players that have been through the academy.}

Very much sounds like when he leaves rather than if he leaves us now ed. Shame as I really think he has all the qualitys to make it. I guess he sees himself as back up to Hendo and possibly Keita.
{Ed001's Note - no, he sees himself as first choice, but he also knows the club feel differently and that is where the problem lies. Klopp wants to use him as a utility mid, sometimes deep lying, sometimes just in front of that, making it more difficult to get your own game going, which is a problem in a World Cup year.}

I see what your saying. He will get a decent number of games this season though with Lallana out, only leaves him and Gini with Hendo.

I might be wrong but could he actually extend his stay midway through the season? I would start him over Hendo and all he need is regular games to make a case for the next year WC.

Perfect Ed01. Well 12 months is a long time and what if he change his mind and commit. All he need is regular game time. On current form he deserves it more than the other two. Play him and gain his confidence and trust! Simple. If not then he will move. We are struggling to recruit players so selling the current one makes no sense to me!
