I'm not even a Liverpool fan and I'm fed up of the will he won't he. I can't believe Liverpool have rejected a potential £118m for a play who on his day is world class, but doesn't do it consistently enough to be labelled it imo. Obscene amount of money of which you could strengthen defence, midfield and could do with a keeper. Plus this is also a play who has been angling for a move for 12 months and has handed in a TR. I would have snapped their hand off at that price personally. When a player doesn't want to be there any longer it's pointless keeping them imo.

Like De Gea.

Obviously you have never watched Pipco play.

But it isn't 118 million in reality, besides money isn't an issue for us. We don't need that money to buy for the positions you've listed, we just haven't sorted them for reasons other than money.

Thing is stand. We didn't reject £118m we rejected £80m with unreasonable add one. Only a mug would accept that deal.

He's twice the player of pogba and pogba was over priced. That's the market atm. Crazy.

18 Aug 2017 21:17:21
Actually Stand, he performs far more often than your lad Pogba.

United kept ronaldo a season longer than he wanted? It's happened before and it will happen again.
Also, you have to assess the payment play behind 118, it seems not everything is as black and white. Long term payment plans and unrealistic add ons potentially make it a poor deal.

Snapped their hand off for their 2nd realistic offer at half the money we know they have in their bank as a minimum? For our best player? Smart business that why don't we throw in Adam bodgan and Moreno to sweeten the deal for them? Rinse every last penny. And then ask for more we can get atleast £130m for him out of them so why accept £115m? Okay he's not worth it but who cares? We're selling not buying. I offer £3.50 for Luke shaw he doesn't wanna be there so just snap my hand off regardless of the fact I have £15 burning through me back pocket.

18 Aug 2017 21:31:04
Plus it was £80 over 5 years, no thanks.

£80m over 5 years I meant!

The problem with selling Coutinho for £118m is that anyone we then pursue, either as a replacement for Coutinho or to strengthen other areas, is going to have their transfer fee inflated in a transfer market that's already at stupid levels because their club will know we have the Coutinho money, and only 2 weeks left in the window.

Now it might be a discussion worth having if it was £115m straight up front, but Barcelona want to pay on the never never with about a third of it dependant on performance clauses. They're trying the same with Dortmund for Dembele and reportedly tried it with Arsenal earlier in the summer for Bellerin, and in those cases have also been told where to go.

Keeping a player who wants to leave is always a gamble, but he's a long contract and it's a World Cup year, I think it's less of a gamble than hoping we can get quality players for less £90m or so after we sell him.

Where does Pogba come into it? Matic had more assists than the world class pipco last season, playing dm. Pogba already won more than Coutinho in England in 12 months.

19 Aug 2017 01:56:01
World transfer record with the 6th position.
And Matic is a super world class midfield in the universe.
Because his 27 assist number is better and more than 44.
