Just voicing a thought.

I really do hope the club let PipCo go. That doesn't mean I don't want him to say, great player who causes teams all kinds of problems, especially by taking up 2 or 3 opposition players.

Not all moves are about wages/ money - nor are all players always about money.

As an Ed said the other day, we were a club with respect for players, as well as being respected - because we let players come, and go, if a special move was on the table.

This is one of them, and I hope the club are just doing as most do with an insurance claim and holding out for the third offer.

Me, personally - I took the 2nd offer from an insurance company recently. Didn't think they'd make a third!

Fingers crossed for player and club.

All the best PipCo - thanks!

You are comparing an insurance company to a football club?
The only thing those two have got in common is they are a business, nothing more.
Sell Coutinho for less than what he is worth to us, and we will be selling players on the cheap for years to come. I applaud FSG for standing up to the Spanish mafia and telling them to do one. The owners have made sure this Coutinho saga is not a precedent to LFC being bullied by the money bags (self proclaimed in Barca's case) when they want our players. And its a message to our players not to act like spoilt brats when offers come in for them. They will be sold as and when the club decides, not their agents or wives.

I know someone that got seriously mugged off when he sold his house too cheaply, the estate agent badly advised him to put his house on the market for a price quite substantially below what it was worth.

I have no sympathy here for Couthino, he could have informed the club back in January that he wanted to leave, not three weeks before the transfer window shuts.

If Pogba was sold for £90m last season. You get my point right?

Kin right on Indian.

What top players have we not let go? Suarez?, Torres? Mascherano? Maybe there is a lack of respect from players? A club that gave these players the stage to show what they can do, to reach the top level in football. Tell me how many of the very best players have Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal and City sold over the years that the club really wanted to keep?

OP, what are you talking about. Football may be a business but it is certainly not comparable to insurance. I don't care about us being a club that respects players. We respect our commitment to players' contracts. it is up to them to respect their side of it on the pitch and off the pitch with their conduct. That is it.

Cou is our player on a new 5 year deal signed 6 months ago and now he wants to jump ship. So we should just sell him cos he is unhappy and will sulk (which is bollocks cos he can't as it is a WC year)? You are very unfamiliar with American sports team owners, then. FSG have said he won't be sold and he can dig his heels in till he's blue in the face. Suarez did 10 times worse and FSG did not sell cos American sports teams' owners will not bullied by a player who's wages they are paying. I'm an American and I should know.

We need him and he knows it. We don't need to sell as we don't need the money esp. with the pathetic breakdown of the payments and add-ons I read somewhere (if that is true) . They are the ones disrespecting us with their offer if that is true.

Indian Buzzer for Club Ambassador.

Contracts mean nothing to players just protection till something better comes along . I would personally ring Barcelona and say 120 million and you can have him . He s let everyone down no way back for me.

Bet you wish you hadn't posted that ridiculous post now mate. Jeez some people.

Dude don't come on commenting about contries im sure your contry has messi and ronaldo fan boys.

I think you are all missing the point here. Coutinho can go when Barcelona come up with the right money. None of these BS add ons, £120 million up front, one payment, no installments, end of.

19 Aug 2017 09:55:38
I still wonder how Barcelona can afford anything if the media are right about the huge debts they live in, even after getting £200mil.
The offer if reported correctly is not enough, they are desperate after being embarrassed in the Spanish super Cup - hold them to random, cough up hard cash or no deal. Hopefully Coutinho can see that too.
Well done to the club for standing firm and sorry Phil, maybe next year! Remember the World Cup!

{Ed001's Note - because they have no need to pay back the debts, no bank in Spain is going to recall a Barca or Real Madrid debt and alienate the fans.}

United let Beckham and Ronaldo go. Chelsea let Cech and Matic go. Arsenal let Cole, Clichy, Sagna, Nasri, RVP etc go. Spurs have sold Bale, Modric, Walker, Keane, Berbatov. City are the only top club i can think of who haven't lost one of their best players in the last 10 years. Although perhaps they have, and just splashed the cash to get a better player so it went I noticed.

MK, you are missing the point here. Majority of those players left the club when the club said they could leave and NOT the other way around so let me refresh your memory here cos we were all there. .

Modric wanted to go to Chelsea and Harry said no, end of story. He only left for RM the season after. Berba, Ronaldo, Keane, Becks all went when Fergie said so, none of them forced a move. Poch let Walker go cos he felt he was not doing the job anymore hence, refused to extend his contract. Arsenal are a perennial selling club, a feeder team to City as all their players left to win things elsewhere as Arsenal till this day bar 3 FA Cups, are a joke. Cech was let go as he would not sit on the bench one more season which is normal.
