I did try and tell you guys that Ox wants the Liverpool move, but one Chelsea bid later and everyone thought it was a free pass to come out and abuse him so cruelly that you'd look like muppets to go back on what you said.

Some of the vulgar posts i read yesterday were truly embarrassing for our fan base, and now it's gone public that he wants to come to LFC, amazingly the abuse seems to have stepped up a notch! Unbelievable.

It is still yet to be seen if Liverpool will pay what Arsenal want but if they do, i hope he proves all the hate campaigners wrong; and I'm sure he will.

I am hearing Arsenal have shifted their stance on OX and a NO SALE board has been put up?

30 Aug 2017 10:55:51
For me he's a lot like the Wiji or Mane signings. Everyone is too quick to slam him and say he's not good enough when they should just wait and see what he's like once he wears the shirt. In a different team with a different system he may turn into a star we just need to stop the abuse and support the lad if he comes.

30 Aug 2017 11:02:33
What's abuse these days? Having an opinion you don't like? The vast majority of fans from what I've seen don't want ox because we think he's not good enough to improve us having watched him for years. It's also known he wants to play centrally which is another problem and I suspect first team football.
Noone has a problem with him preferring to join us. I care more about my club than being sensitive to the wants of a current arsenal player.

30 Aug 2017 11:05:20
MK-I haven't seen one vulgar post about ox, just repeated posts that people don't think he's good enough and that shouldn't change whether he is coming or not. If he joins I will cheer him on like any player in a Liverpool shirt but I don't think he's a good signing and certainly not for the price being quoted and his wages.
Maybe/ hopefully Klopp can improve him but for 35+ I would want someone with less question marks hanging above his head.

30 Aug 2017 11:07:51
Not true at all Harry. He is available after telling Arsenal last week that he wants to move to Liverpool and rejecting their final take it or leave it contract offer. I heard this from someone who claims to have spoken directly to an Arsenal board member and the decision has apparently been taken out of Wengers hands.

Wenger played Ox on Sunday as part of a little tantrum and it backfired because he clearly didn't want to be on the pitch after making his stands very clear.

I've been on this site years and rarely ever post rumours, but this is 100% legit. If Liverpool agree a fee with Arsenal then the deal will happen. As i type there are rumours we've opened up the bidding.

30 Aug 2017 11:08:02
It's not abuse if you simply think a certain player is not good enough for the club. Get off your high horse mate we know you think he'd be a great buy but some of us disagree - it doesn't make us 'muppets' or 'embarrassing to our fan base' or haters: he is a player who has flattered to deceive for 5 seasons now who is demanding he be played in midfield despite lacking the skill set (in my opinion) to do so and who would still cost a lot of money for a player in the final year of his contract. You may disagree, and that's fine, but don't start calling people out as bad fans just because their opinion on a player differs.

30 Aug 2017 11:09:14
Everyone knows he wants the Liverpool move, have done for ages. That doesn't mean that they have to agree about his ability. A lot of people don't think he is good enough for Liverpool, and there is nothing wrong with voicing that as he isn't a Liverpool player. If he does sign then I would hope that people give him a chance to prove himself.
I personally don't think he is good enough to be in first team atm, although a good squad player and can do a job when needed. I think we should stop buying squad players, certainly for the £35m+ that has been quoted and just buy players that will improve our starting 11 (who they replace will be the squad players then, with a chance to chance to be first choice again if they do well enough when called upon) . Maybe Klopp sees thinks differently and he might go in to the starting 11? I trust Klopp judgment and will support him if he arrives.

30 Aug 2017 11:09:33
Mk, do you personally want AOC at Liverpool? I'm not going to knock the player but I don't see where he plays and I can't get my head round paying that sort of money on a squad player. With a fit squad I don't see where Milner plays and his wages are high enough let alone having another player warming the stands with him. I'd rather use what we have and to me trying to persuade Can to sign a new contract between now and January is what we should be concentrating on rather than over stocking our midfield with squad players. Now if he was a player that would walk straight into the team I'd understand it but I honestly can't see who he's better than. However if he does sign I hope he proves me wrong.

30 Aug 2017 11:10:24
Seems to be the tradition to slag off players if they are linked to us now unless they have fancy Brazilian names or cost over £60m.

30 Aug 2017 11:11:53
Agree 100% with this. Same with Robertson we signed him. I will give any player that signs for us a chance. Personally would prefer Lemar, given the choice, but if we got Ox he'll have my support and I hope the vast majority of supporters will do the same.

30 Aug 2017 11:12:17
Agree with you MK and Ings. Some of our supporters are truly embarrassing.

30 Aug 2017 11:12:28
Wijnaldim and mane firstly shouldn't be put in the same sentence. Everyone seen manes quality and he's been nothing short of outstanding.
Wijnaldim has done a job and played his best game against arsenal.
I just think at this stage some fans clearly haven't watched ox consistently.

30 Aug 2017 11:27:09
Clearly it is acceptable for the same 3 posters to literally turn every single thread into an opportunity to turn on a player who wants to sign for us.

It has descended into a hate campaign of repetitive slagging and unnecessary words such as "Delusional", "pathetic", "useless", "wannabe", "joke" etc.

People aren't just giving an opinion. They are bordering on character assassination and it is just absolutely constant. It has ruined these boards for the last 3 days.

If you all think that is acceptable, and that I'm just on a high horse, whatever. In my mind that just proves my point because the scale of the abuse aimed at Ox, the excessive repetition, and the choice of words from some people has for me, crossed the line on more than one occasion.

30 Aug 2017 11:29:04
I was not particularly happy about the Keita deal. But i made my opinion clear once and then left it at that. I didn't continually post the same trash every 5 minutes right up till he signed. It becomes nothing more than bullying and it is utterly tiresome.

30 Aug 2017 11:45:33
In my opinion pegleg, he is comfortably better than Milner, Lallana, Grujic, Clyne and Moreno in their respective positions. All of those players make our match day squad regularly so i see no reason why Ox won't do the same.

Why does he have to start every game? Even Mane and Salah won't start every game. If he improves our match day squad, then I'm happy. Which he very obviously (at least to me) does.

30 Aug 2017 11:47:02
Seriously where do you put him in our team? Not knocking the player just asking as I don't think he's any better than we already have.

30 Aug 2017 12:08:58
Ignore the last message you've already replied.

Whilst I'll agree he's better than Milner we already have him and I don't see him going. As for Lallana sorry I don't agree, as for Grujic I'll agree he's more suited to the premiership at the moment but I think grujic has the potential to become a far better player and his signing will only right grujics career off with us. As for the full backs the cover we have is good enough, Taa and Gomez cover right back for me with clynne and Flanagan if he stays and at left back we have Robertson, Moreno who's form has improved and Milner if needed so I really can't see the £35m on a squad player is good business.

30 Aug 2017 12:13:57
Comfortably better than Lallana? not in a million years!

30 Aug 2017 12:26:20
Spot on, Cobra. MK, you said that Ox was better than Lallana some time in July. It was funny then and you repeating it now, is becoming worrying and I am starting to fear for you. And Grujic is not PL proven yet BUT is young and promising, so comparing the Ox to him is a false comparison which shows that you really have no argument to support Ox's arrival based on his ability cos well, he has very little of it as many have said here. Watch the Arsenal whitewash to see why.

I don't care who wants to sign here and whether Klopp wants him or not. We all have a right to debate as to what he will bring to our team and right now, Ox based on ability, offers next to nothing both out wide or in midfield. If we have 40m to burn, we could get a CB or use it to fund part of Can's contract, not spend on a guy who has scored a pathetic 9 goals in 170 games and people working overtimme to convince us that he is good enough to sign if we don't get Lemar, who is 3 times the player Ox will ever be.

30 Aug 2017 18:47:18
I think it's clear that supporters of our club have forgotten recent years when stars like Stewart, Shelvey and Downing as midfield options off the bench. Ox, if signed, would be pushing for a first team place every week just like the rest of the side.
