It's unforgivable that we have not bought a centre back in this window. We were arguably a CB away from being contenders, now we are an injury away from disaster.
Talk of £200m war chest. Yet again FSG will keep the wallet closed. How are we to take the next step and push on for trophies when they don't sign what's needed.
Am absolutely livid.
It'll be the same again this season, mistakes at the back dropping stupid points.

Probably the most frustrating time to be a Liverpool fan. We are so good going forward, goals all over the pitch, just missing that one leader at the back, at least we didn't waste money on Lemar. Pleased with ox tho! Think he will fit in well with klopps guidance.

My goodness this fsg talk is embarrassing. Seen it all over twitter. Klopp wanted van dijk. Klopp was in the wrong. We had to apologise to Southampton. Southampton clearly don't and never wanted to sell the player since that embarrassing incident.
The club backed klopp. Instead of wasting our time on van dijk we should have lined up alternatives weeks ago!

Always makes me laugh that people think this is an FSG problem, "FSG keep the wallet closed", if Klopp and the rest of the LIVERPOOL hierarchy (not FSG) had not ****ed around with regards to VVD so much we might well have our man.
However, that's the way it is and we'll have to deal with it now.

AL, how on earth is this FSGs fault? You really need to assess what's happened this window. FSG were willing to buy VVD, they were willing to buy Keita (which they did, not sure whether payment is this year or next) The reason we haven't got our targets this year is because internally we have messed it up. Every player Klopp wanted, FSG were willing to buy and you can see that if you look back on the window. We can't blame FSG for not finding a replacement for VVD as that's the job of Klopp and co. FSG don't pick and choose what player we buy. I'm just as dissapointed in not signing a CB as anyone but if us fans are going to pass blame we need to direct at the right people, not just try and find a scapegoat.

We have messed up not getting a CD but you can't blame that on FSG, we know they have fronted the money for this, it's just unfortunate the right players were not available.
We should of had backups though all along.

FSG were quite happy to open the wallet for van Dijk. But it's not their fault that we illegally approached him and as a result couldn't bid on him, is it? And it's not their fault that we didn't seriously seek out an alternative to van Dijk.

FSG have backed Klopp on every target. Is it their fault Klopp tapped up VVD. If he hadn't he'd be our player ages ago and also some clubs don't want to deal. Monaco lost a lot of good players this window.
We've secured some good signings. our fullbacks have blossomed. It's only the CB's there's a problem and some coaching will sort that out. People need to chill out.

For me £92million for Lemar is a huge risk on someone who has only broken through in the last 12 months - nearly double what we will pay for our record signing Keita. Yes, in 12 more months it might prove a bargain, but I understand why we wouldn't go back in at that level.
No one can accuse of FSG keeping the wallet closed. If we had been more professional in our actions we would have a £50 odd million defender also on our books.

Yes big Al we should have looked at other CB's.
It just seems that this was a great opportunity to make a significant signing in an obvious area that needed strengthening. With midweek European games as well this Swanson I think we have missed a big chance here.
IMO The scum will be the team to catch this year and I think this was a huge window for us.

Yep disgusting that FSG and Klopp didn't identify some second rate championship level CB whose club would be happy to sell, and buy them, so they could keep people on here happy with a panic buy. Judging by some people they should be overjoyed by the situation cos they're clearly not happy unless they've got something to moan about.

I think especially with European football we don't have the strength or depth at CB to push on and challenge. I believe with Klopp at the helm and the way he can attract top players we should have really pushed on in this window to push for a CB and I don't believe we have. Like you I just want what's best for LFC. I don't believe starting the season and hoping to end up in the top 4 is not acceptable That's my opinion.
