You know what lads, I am sitting here with a nice glass of red wine, and thinking back to some of the things that have shaped my love of LFC.

I have a few miles on the clock, and to give you an idea I remember being at Anfield when we played Everton, and we got beat 4-0 with Fred Pickering scoring a hat trick against us. I was very young then but devastated by the result. Everton at that time were the so called aristocrats, and we were the small fry who came up from the then second division.

I have been a supporter since we were in division 2, so a very long time. So I have known bad times as a supporter, and also great, great times too.

I still get mightily frustrated and annoyed with things that are happening to us now, but I really do think that times are a changing for us, and within the next couple of seasons, we will all see this.

Anyway, sorry for the long post but I guess I am saying is things are nowhere near as bad as some on here think.

We are a good, if not great, team and will get to be a great team soon.

We're all supporters and have our own opinions, and I respect them all.

Keep believing boys, girls and others!

Fair play KBL nice post.

Top man KBL! I think I'm a little younger than you but still remember paying £3 to get onto the kop and remember every single person there being glad to be there supporting their team. Oh how times have changed! These idiots need to understand the family they are in and that we look after our own. We certainly don't berate our own players like some of these fools do nowadays!

Great post KBL, enjoyed that read mate.
I agree with practically everything you had to say buddy.

Respect mate - we'd all love to be able to share your history supporting this great club,

I'm sure your longevity and experience through the ups and downs makes you laugh (or cry) when people want to sack the manager after a few bad games.

Great post KBL,
While I haven't been a supporter as long, I love the highs and lows that I've witnessed. I love hating United and Everyone (real hatred, especially Sir Alex) . I have thrown things and screamed for joy. I was surrounded by West Ham supporters at a pub in Pittsburgh when Gerrard equalized, I almost got punched and would have loved it. All I want to say is as much as we all love the Club, and the game, in the end it is a game and it entertains and enthralls win, lose or draw.
I consider myself lucky to have been on this site almost daily since I don't know when.
I have yet to see the club win the Premier League but I think it will be coming soon, more patience, no sacking the manager, and we will be rewarded.
After the hurricanes I have been thru, and life in general, there are a precious few things more important than LFC.
Cheers everyone
Matt in FL.

Too many old people on this site 😄😄.

{Ed001's Note - Harry you are older than most of us!}

Certainly younger than the one's above!

{Ed001's Note - I am not so sure mate...}

Fred Pickering? Who is he? I had to use google. KBL, i thought i was old but i think you have me by at least 10 years, maybe more!

Times have ceratainly changed, haven't they? Life as a Liverpool fan has certainly been a rollercoaster. As you say the downs of Division 2, followed by the greats of Shankly, Paisley, Fagan and The King himself. Sadly now for the past 20 odd years its been mainly a downward trend with a few little peaks along the way.

Now i feel we are stuck between two summits with our cart gently rocking back and forward hoping for someone to give us that push back up to the top but i can't see it yet, too many false dawns for me.

The weight of our baggage seems too much for anyone to push us back to the top of that rollercoaster to start another exciting ride.

Nothing wrong with us oldies, mind you, depends on what one detmines as old 😎.

I used to go in the boys pen when we were in the second division, Fred Pickering scored once I think in The 4 nil defeat by Everton, in 64, but I can see what you are getting at KBL as we beat Everton 5 nil in 65.
Best wishes .

Spot on, KBL. In the end, we should always remember what unites us as LFC supporters and that is the overall success of LFC. Being a supporter means that you are an eternal optimist and believe that there will be a better day regardless of the storm the club may be in. Yes, we are frustrated and we are annoyed with some systemic things happening on and off the pitch. That is legitimate and it is okay to be livid by them.

However, I have never believed in throwing the baby out with the bath water. We are a very good team going thru a bad spell. That's all it is and nothing more. With that in mind, we need to stick together thru this time and support the team as they need our help right now. They don't need constant abuse from a small minority either. Everyone is involved. Red Till I'm Dead!
