Garth Crooks has Mignolet in his team of the week.

I am genuinely concerned for the mans sanity or eyesight.

{Ed002's Note - Yeah, it is a bitch. Liverpool won and he saved a penalty. Can you imagine the nightmare of that happening everygame? I can only refer you to Herb Morrison. "Oh, the humanity".}

Come on Ed, it was a tongue in cheek post following all the stick that Migs has been getting. Not a cry for help.

{Ed002's Note - As I said, you see it as "tongue in cheek", I see it as an unnatural act you wish to perform on the manager.}

He's the worst keeper to ever grace our nets.

If he was a target for January and he had performed like this at say arsenal would you be expect8ng him to be number 1, 2 or 3.

Never settle for second best or third, fourth or fifth.

His shot stopping skills are pretty good!

{Ed001's Note - is this tongue in cheek too?}

25 Sep 2017 03:55:31
How was Klopp brought into this?

25 Sep 2017 04:24:46
Bogdan was worse.

Garth Crooks is a terrible footy journalist and presenter. Clearly has not watched any footy and just read headlines in picking migs in his team of the week.

How he found himself in that job I have no idea and Wii be writing to the BBC to get some of my tv licence fee back after this one!

25 Sep 2017 07:19:16
or probably most other keepers either let in too many goals or had nothing to do?
BTW team of the week without all matches played is a bit premature.
I am not defending Migs but that is what he wrote. other keeper either has nothing to do or let in goals.

I remember him st Spurs lol.

I think Ed 002 has a Juergen klomplex 😎.

I've seen his team of the week page on the BBC website many times and he seems to be clueless. Goalkeepers will be included for saving a penalty regardless of how well they played in the rest of the match. A defender who scored a goal will usually be picked as well in the same way.

Good shot stopper. That's like saying he's thick as pig rubbish but really good at breathing.

It's not a barometer of his skill. I'm an amazing shot stopper, like actually ruthless. Just bollocks at everything else, which makes me a poor goal keeper. rubbish passing, kicking, commanding, organising, speed. Everything.

You could play pretty much anyone in goal in the prem and they would make at least 90% saves mignolet makes.

Spot on, TB. It is simply impossible to be a good shot stopper YET leadd the league in 15/ 16 in conceding from the oppo's first shot on target. It is patently impossible for both of these assertions to be correct. He is simply rubbish at everything, period. He is lazy and lacks the mean streak that GK's are known to have. He's a nice guy. Really? Never saw a GK who was a nice guy ON the pitch as they are known to be maniacs who hate conceding goals and will rip you a new one if you as a defender, try to make them look bad. Migs is NONE of that.

The saves he makes are the saves any pro GK in all 4 leagues could make. The two penalties he saved this season are ones any GK could have saved. Saving penalties is not a barometer to show you are a good GK. DDg's penalty save ratio is worse than Migs. Who would you have to be LFC GK btw both of them? Exactly.

For Leicester's first goal Mignolet was being fouled by Okazaki and on any other day the ref is giving that foul so no goal is scored. As for the second, he probably should have turned it over his goal, but by the same token, why was no one picking up Vardy? Our defenders were playing statues. As for the penalty, I am also 50/ 50 on whether it was a penalty, Mignolet gets the ball first and his momentum takes him into Vardy, so I am not sure how that is a foul more than an accidental clash, I've seen them given and not given.
The fact he saved it is the most relevant fact, yeah he should have put his foot through the ball into row z, but we are all great with hindsight.

The first goal he made a poor decision, as always and the second is primary school stuff. never send it across your goal.

Just for a second here, when defending all this. Remember this is a premier league goal keeper at a top 4 club, who have major aspirations to win the league. I mean even Everton went and got a 30 million pound gk and there looking st finishing 8th. It's like the second major position after a goal scorer. There just huge huge players and you cannot have passengers.

I don't actually get what your defending. Do you really think he is Good? Do you just protect Liverpool players blindly? Are you trying to be the 1%? Arguing for arguments sake.

4 seasons and where still waiting for a proper go performance. A de gea style one. That shouldn't take this long for a Liverpool goal keeper.

De gea, coutois, Loris, cech, ederson and mignolet.

Do you see the difference. Oh and that could be the 5 points difference we need to make top 4 again.

25 Sep 2017 13:26:47
The keeper Everton bought in isn't a £30m keeper in a million years and is just as poor as Mignolet on crosses. We should have bought Butland when we had the chance, he is the keeper we should be looking at as he is big, dominant, good on crosses as well as having tremendous reflexes.

{Ed002's Note - Jordan Pickford was the goalkeeper very much of interest to Klopp.}

25 Sep 2017 13:47:40
Didn't say picmf9rd was the answer but that a team with the same aspirations as us know how important the position is and invested heavily to secure it. Wether it pays off is another question but to go into a transfer window and where not even looking to address it is worrying as without that postion well covered you will achieve squat. As has been proved since migs signed. How many trophies have we won?
